| ![]() From my info. it says make no bones about it-Dogs are omnivores, not carnivores, and most dogs and cats cannot tolerate bones. They can splinter ot lodge in intestinal tract, usually requiring surgery. Also can get stuck in Moth or throat. all bones are bad, pork, chicken and beef! the soup bones- well- why don't you try and find the chewy they call 'cow hoof"( I have heard they ARE A COW'S HOOF-don't know that , though! They are tough, NOT TO $$$$$, last pretty good, and would be good for a pup that is teething! Try one and see! the worst bones are the cooked bones, but none or good1 |

| ![]() I also heard that hot dogs were bad for dogs?? is this true? The cow hoof's are great. We have had ours FOREVER and the dogs love them. One more question....if milk is bad for a dog, why isnt cottage cheese. It is also a dairy product?? Just asking before I give september some after she has the pups.

So far as milk - dogs are lactose intolerant, meaning they can't digest the lactose in the milk well. Some dogs can tolerate more milk than others. Too much milk can cause diarrhea. In yogurt, cheese, and cottage cheese - the lactose is already partially digested which is why it doesn't upset the tummy like plain milk does. I would limit any dairy product though - a little is fine but too much could cause diarrhea

| ![]() That and garlic I've always wondered about. You'll hear they are bad but then see them being used in dog treats. I do know the pit in the avacado is what is toxic so I'm assuming the actual part you eat isn't (not positive on that though). So far as garlic...I have no idea...maybe just small amounts are okay?
