| Irresistable Force Meets Immovable Object Well.....Miss Layla needs a whole lot of obedience training. She is 65 lbs. of pure muscle and energy! Y'all pray for me.............hubby is less than enthusiastic! I think she will be a great dog with time and attention, we'll just have to see. Of course, she is always at her rambunctious worst when he is present! LOL

| She is still young and very trainable. Tell hubby not to forget she has just been sprung from jail and has lots of built up energy to burn off.

| I am so happy for you. I too have two large dogs and then of course Maggie. The only difference is that the big dogs just dig bigger holes and the poo is a lot bigger. Maggie thinks she is as big as they are, and it is so cute to watch.

| She is a handfull! Make that two hands full! Just spent another $40 for a steel tieout(she chewed throught the nylon one) and a pinch collar. I've never believed in pinch collars before, but read up on them on the internet and I think it'll be ok. Uncomfortable if she pulls, but not damaging. Anyway, I only have her regular collar on her now and thought we'd use the pinch one for walking and training. Got her and Cinder some big Greenies and they are lovin' life! Got Lexy a tiny John Deere cap too! She looks like a little "twactor dwiver!" Thanks for all the encouragement! I'm tired!!!! She really is a sweet dog! She'll learn manners with a lot of love and consistency!

| The choke is definitely for walking and training. Don't use it when you have her tied out. Also becareful where you tie her. Dogs have been known to get tangled up. You might think about getting her a harness and tieing it on the harness instead of a collar. I'm glad my rescue I recently adopted(border collie)is over 2 years old and mentally an adult. She came fully potty trained and quite eager to please. She is very smart has learn a tons of things in a short time. Of course, I have 4 obedience instructor, 1 flyball instructor, 1 agility instructor(that's me) and 1 dog behavorist on her 24/7. I'm slacking on my part but those evil obedience instructor friends of mine has her sitting, downing, staying, backing up, fetching, and shaking already. And I only have had her for 1 week. |

| We have a lab that is almost 8 years old. We rescued him from the pound at about a year old. Lab's are puppy-brained for about 2 years. Lots of energy and excitable. It will probably take a little while to train Layla. (Great name) But they are very devoted dogs and just big goofballs! My sister's black lab just died at 13 years old. She was a puppy for about 10 years!

| I have lived with labs my entire life and they are absolutely wonderful dogs. They are big puppies forever it seems like, but very easily trainable. My dad hunts ducks and has his trained for retrieving. They are so well behaved you wouldn't imagine, and very smart. He uses a clicker and choke collar to train his, and it usually only takes a couple of months before they are putty in his hands! He's training my niece's black lab right now. If you have any questions or need pointers on how to train a lab, I have been doing it for a while. Just let me know! Good luck!
