| Pee Pee Pad Problem I've had Olivia for one week today. She is doing very well with potty training on the pee pee pads. (Infact, she and I are laying in bed and she just cried to get down because she had to go. My little genious!!) Anyway, the problem is that she goes to the potty pad to go, but half of the time she goes on the edge of it. I feel like even though she sometimes half misses, I can't say anything because she is going to the pad to "go." I tell her she get's an "A" for effort and an "F" for aim! I need her to learn to use the pad so that she isn't getting anything on the floor/carpet. How should I get her to go more in the middle?? The last few times she's been about to poop on the edge I've run over and placed her in the center of the pad. All this has accomplished is I scare her and she runs to poo a few feet from the pad. I've even tried to use to potty pads side-by-side to give her more area, but she still goes on the edge. Help!! |

| Linus did the same thing for a while. I tried putting the pad in a corner, so there isn't many sides to hang off of. He's doing much better. He used to only use the sides, but now he's gotten a lot better about going in the middle. It just takes a littel time I think...*shrug*

| yeah i especially loved it when toby used to have his front feet on the pad, his back feet off, and he would miss the damn pad completely (hes now 100% trained ..... but it took a lot of work) you could try one of those pad holders (this might give her more of an idea of what the "boundry" of the pitty spot is |

| Bella did the same thing, sometimes still does. I still tell her good girl since she could of gone anywhere and at least made it to the pad. She is about 99.9% trained to go on the pad. Now, I still have the problem of her wanting to eat her poop if I don't get it in time. The deter was working but not anymore

| I'm glad this topic came up. Millie goes to the pad area but poops beside it pees anywhere else in the room and sleeps on her pad. How do you fix that? Are we confusing her? We take her outside a lot of the time but I also want her to learn to use the pad for when we travel. Should I just concentrate on one or the other first. How do I fix the sleeping on the pad? |

| Isn't that weird when they want to lie down on the pad? We keep ours in the bathroom and Bodhi will do this while I take a bath. He gets bored. He'll also chew the wall. Now, I have hubby entertain Bodhi while I bathe. And pooping? I think some accidently got on the pad once. We're just so happy that he goes on the tile rather than the carpet and praise him anyway. Seldom does he pee on the edge or even lift his leg and hit the wall. He's 7 mo. old and has been neutered, but we still curve the edges up against the wall trim. There was a thread about the best litter boxes to try. Might do a search for that. Good luck! |

| Toto hangs her little butt over the edge too sometimes! We keep a heavy duty, clear shower curtain folded and put her pad holder on that. At least it doesn't go on the carpet and most days she gets everything on the pad! Even when she "misses" it's still "Good Girl Partytime" because we feel her intentions were good!
