| ![]() Anyone have any advise for furniture chewing? It seems when I'm not looking, Bentley likes to chew the corner of the ottoman. *sigh* And I JUST bought it a month ago....brand new.....what the hell?

| ![]() you can get stuff called Bitter Apple at Petsmart.. you just spray it on where ever you dont' want him to chew and the taste will deter him. |

| ![]() Yummy! Nothing like the taste of new furniture. :-) Seriously, I have a solution for you. While the bitter apple mentioned above works, it only works for a short time. What works like MAGIC for us is clear rolll-on deodorant. Not only does it work, but it works for a l-o-n-g time.

| ![]() Bitter Apple worked for Jake. When I first got him, he was chewing on a table leg, and I sprayed it with Bitter Apple. He got one little taste of that, and he never tried chewing on anything again other than his toys. Now if he just sees the bottle, he runs lol |

| ![]() White vinegar always worked for me. Just the smell of it sends them running the other way. And it tastes awful!

| ![]() I tried everything when ahia was little. she still likes to chew on things. I keep a solid deodorant handy. they won't lick it. they don't like the smell much less the taste. deodorant does work and it don't hurt them one bit.

| ![]() What's the ottoman made of, if it's leather, that may be attracting him. Is he teething...make sure he has plenty of things he can chew on. And I like the deodorant idea, never thought of that. I hope you can save your furniture...good luck and let us know.

| ![]() So I have tried "Bitter Apple" and "Bitter Yuck", my little guy, Stanley, gets the taste and shakes his head and licks his lips in disgust but then comes back for more in a few minutes. The stuff appears to wear off very quickly. And I too got a taste of the "Bitter Yuck" and it really is YUCK. Not sure about the deodorant tactic, I am afraid that with the sensitive stomaches of the little guys that it would make him sick...especially since he does tend to come back for more. Anyone else have any further advise? |

| ![]() I would have to spray everything in the house including my other 2 dogs. I think we have one of the worst little chewers I have ever seen. Not only does she chew everything but she chases the other 2 and barks and growls and bites at their hind legs. She is only 11wks. old and she is like a big dog in this little bittie body. So, whatever you do that works, pm me, because we need it. She is also almost impossible to housebreak. She will wait until she comes back in and the tee tee. HELP!! Whatever you find that helps for the chewing, seriously I would like to know. This little Taz is chewing us up and she has everything under the sun to play with. (but we love her to pieces. lol!!) |
