| How long can they hold it? I was wondering how long could a 3 month old puppy hold their pee? Could they hold it all through the night, or would you have to bring them out in the middle of the night? |

| I also have a 3 mth. old puppy. She can hold herself for about 6 hrs. in the night. We put a peepad right outside our room and she'll go by herself when she wakes up in the morning. |

| I think it varies from dog to dog. Some can hold it longer than others.

| I was told that a three month old should hold it 4 hours. Take their month age and add 1. It has rung true with Zoey. |

| I think it varies from dog to dog also. Myla is a little over 3 months. I take the dogs out around 9:30-10:00 PM for their last potty of the day. Myla goes into her crate around 10:30 and she sleeps and "holds it" till around 6:30 the next morning. She has done that since I got her. Oh, I forgot... she's my Maltese... sorry. Maybe breed has something to do with it? I don't know. |

| I agree with everyone who has said it depends on the pup. My Teddy was 8 weeks old when he came home and since it was winter (and we live in the mountains), we used a childs playpen. He would hold it for 11 hours with no accidents. He even slept through the night from day one. Now can I potty train him not to go in the house during the day, heck no. I know his "schedule" so I get him out before he is due but if I get busy, he will go in the house. He knows he does wrong but that does not change the outcome. Will just have to keep working on this. |

| I agree, each pup is different. We got Zoe when she was 12.5 wks old and for the first week, I would get up during the night and take her out but since then, I have not needed to. I do get up at 6:15 and take her out first thing and the only thing I have to be careful of is that she has such a full bladder that if she gets too excited or my older dog comes down and she gets all excited she will "leak". |

| Every pup is different but they say they can hold it for as many hours as they are months plus one.....so, if they are 3 months old, then they can hold it for 4 hours. If they are 6 months old, they can hold it for 7 hours, etc. |

| From 3 months of age, Conner could hold it all night most nights (10 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.). If he has to go during the night, he will lick my husband's face (that almost never happens now). We have a pen outside the window, so we just have to open the window and place him on the ramp, he goes down, does his business and comes back in (hopefully). Sometimes he lollygags and makes me late for work.
