My only suggestion would be to scold her only when you catch her not going on her pads. [However, don't scold her when she's first going...trust me! I did this with Olivia at first thinking I could correct her before she went potty. I usually ended up scaring her, and then had to pick up the "poopy trail" she made while trying to run from being scolded! It did more harm than good!] After scolding her, I would pick her up and place her on the pad. Also, maybe getting some of the poo smell on the pad would help. If worse comes to worse, put a pad over her favorite spot so that you can at least save your carpet! Perhaps if she doesn't smell the scent because the pad is on there, she'll fall out of habit with going in that particular spot.
Another member, rosenberry, posted a mixture to help with smells on carpets:
A bottle of Hydrogen peroxide
Tsp of Dawn dish soap
Tbsp. baking soda
Mis together and either poor on the stain or use a squirt bottle. It's supposed to eliminate cat pee odors in carpets. I would think if it can take care of cat pee, it can take care of anything! Spraying perfume to cover the scent seems to me like it would get nausiating after a while. I've never tried this mixture, but it can't hurt! Good luck with your baby. |
