| ![]() He probably needs to go out more than twice a day. He probably needs to be neutered, that will help the marking behavior, although never guaranteed to stop it completely. If your dog is housetrained, but is peeing in the house, there's a behavior issue or medical issue there. You can try re-housetraining to get him back in the swing of things or take him to the vet to make sure he doesn't have something going on. The Denver Dumb Friends League has a fantastic website with lots of good behavior information and behavior modification tips. Or you can contact an animal behaviorist.

thanks for your reply. I have to agree with you.. I think he needs to be fixed. I don't think it's much of a peeing problem as it is his instinct (not to piss but to arm himself with it). His last owner told me he likes to mark his territority-AT TIMES- around the house so it's rather obvious. I had a feeling someone might bring up the medical issue, and I have to concede. I hardly doubt he has any health issues, but I'm going to schedule him to the vet anyway. Thanks for the information and hope you have a great day. | |

| ![]() Lucky.......Gordon did this. As soon as we went out his nose went to the ground and he sniffed out his place and peed. He then would act like he wanted to play , so then I would take him inside. As soon as we got in he always ran in and not 10 minutes later , I would find a spot that he peed in the kitchen. A trainer suggested that he might need to pee twice before coming back in.......she was right. After he pees the first time, and then he starts acting like he wants to play(no sniffing) I tell him to potty .......he then starts sniffing and it might take him a little while but he will then sniff out another place and pee. I don't know why but he pees twice when I take him out.....as soon as we got out and then within a 5-10 minute time frame , he has to pee again. I did have the vet check him and he ran test .......he found nothing wrong with him. The trainer told me it is just some dogs that do this. He hasn't had another accident in the house in almost two weeks. He sleeps all night in his kennel with no accidents.
