| ![]() We have a 7 1/2 month old female who is just driving us insane. Lately she hasnt been wanting to eat her dog food and as soon as you let her out of her crate goes on a sniffing rampage for crumbs or scraps all over the house. We have a 1 1/2 baby boy who of course drops crumbs, etc on the floor and our dog just has to have them. It has gotten so bad that she has learned to hop onto the dinning room chairs and eventually get up to the table where she will then pull food off the table or just sit there and eat it. She has also managed to climb up onto my son's highchair where we will find her on top of the feeding tray licking and eating his leftover food. The garbage can and garbage itself has been also attacked. One or more of the above happens all day long and its getting to the point where I just am loosing my patience with it and so is everyone else in the house. When I first caught her doing any of the above I would just say bag girl and send her to her crate and she would put her head down and go in and she would be a bit better for the rest of the day. Then I had to move up to spraying her with water. Then to sraying her with apple/water mixture. I have even swatted her in the butt with a fly swater. Nothing is working and its getting really out of control. I cant let her out of the crate at all by herself or else something is getting attacked. I also cant be with her on a leash 24/7 either. Today she was found on top of the highchair and when told bad girl and went to get her off she tried to bite me and then jumped off and ran behind our couch. I couldnt get to her so i had to move it out of the way and she would just move further back and so on till i finally had someone help corner her in. My family is really getting tired of the problems with this puppy and wants me to get rid of her already. We dont even get to enjoy her anymore as she doesnt sit on anyones lap or play nice everything has to be a rough play and or she is doing something bad. She has been spending a lot of time in the crate lately and its sad. I feel really bad and dont know what else to do I am at my witts end! Can someone help! |

| ![]() Isevilla, because this isn't the first time that your dog has bit you, I strongly recommend that you consult a trainer. I think this is more than can be solved over the internet. As far as the other behaviors you describe in this post, most all of them are normal - annoying, but normal - dog behaviors. I personally have never met a dog who didn't "hoover" the floor for crumbs. Look at the bright side of that one - it means less sweeping for you! As far as getting up on tables and high chairs to get to food, there is a simple cure for that although I doubt you'll like it. Keep the table and high chair cleared off when no-one is sitting there. If you pup isn't reinforced by finding food and crumbs, she'll soon stop jumping up there. I've had this issue with Joey - he can actually jump up on my kitchen counters! ![]() It sounds like you have your hands very full right now.

| ![]() Well i found out today that she is in heat. It explains everything now all the bad behavior. I woke up this morning and my son was playing with her and had her upside down when i noticed that her nipples looked a bit larger than yesterday. Then i looked down there and noticed that it was swollen. it was like 3 times larger than it was yesterday. then i also noticed a bit of blood on the hair next to it. My sister has a female pup and told me to put a pamper on her so i did. she is doing really well with the pamper but now i wonder how is she supposed to go to the bathroom now? will she still go to the litter and pull off the pamper? is there a better solution? i also notice that she is in pain as her eyes are really big and she is just trying so hard to sleep but is just tossing and turning. she hasnt eaten either since yesterday. i also noticed that she vomitted last night in my room a bit. is there anything i can do for her to make her feel more comfortable? anything to use other than pampers for her to allow her to go to the bathroom? |

| ![]() I never have a female yorkie but I myself always have monthly pains. Maybe you can use a small hot water bottle to sooth her tummy pain? I hope I don't sound too silly. Am just thinking maybe it will help...

| ![]() I know that IAMS sells this gravy you can put on dry food and it gives it a nicer taste for the dog I guess a chicken or beef flavor? I know it comes in this bottle that looks kinda like a barbecue sauce or salad dressing bottle. We have this same problem your having with our chihuahua..hes so sneaky when nobody is in the kitchen he jumps on the chair and climbs on the table..then he just sits there and licks the plates clean! So we just make sure that all the chairs are pushed in or that theres nothing on the table for him. Goodluck! |

| ![]() Kind of odd to buy dog food only to have to doctor it up with something else to get the dog to eat it. Real food doesn't need to be doctored up. ![]() Ok, back to the real issue. Put your dog in a crate while you all eat. Then clean the table and high chair, take the tray off the high chair after you wash it. Fix your dog some real food and let her eat next. You have that little dog a nervous wreck. Also you need to have her spayed. It sounds as though this heat cycle is really hard on her. What ever you do, don't let her out of the house by herself. A male dog can climb any fence when a female is in heat, and could kill her if it's a large dog. Use the pampers or even doggie diapers, but take it off to let her potty, but please go out with her!!! I can't stress that enough. If you don't want to keep her, then call the Yorkie rescue. |

| ![]() I forgot to add.......NEVER use the dogs bed/crate as punishment. That crate should be a fun place to be. It should make the dog feel safe and happy. I would strongly suggest if you do keep her, to buy some books on Yorkies and enroll her in a puppy training class. You will learn a lot there too. |
