| Fearless Puppy Heading for a Fall! I guess this is the best place to post this. I really need some advice. My little Lucy is 7 months old and not quite 3 1/2 pounds. She is a goof with absolutely no fear at all. I have a normal end table next to my sofa and she's fallen between them twice because she likes to get on the table and then sees me and tries to jump back to the sofa real quick. She also jumps from the sofa to the coffee table. There's nothing of interest there. She just likes to check things out. I had to catch her last night she was rolling around kinda scratching her back on the sofa and darn near fell off the side backwards. She's a wiggle worm and couldn't care less how high she is. Last night hubby was trying to give her her antibiotic (she was spayed on Wednesday) and she hates it so much. I was holding her and she just about wiggled right out of my arms! I don't mind if she's on the furniture. The soft furniture but I don't know how to keep her off the tables! And again, it's when she knows I've seen her that she scrambles to get down and that's when she tends to fall. She's so little and I'm so afraid she's really going to get hurt. Any ideas?

My furkids Donating Member | These little ones have NO fear at all! They think they are much larger than they are...I would either move the table (and if that's not possible) try putting a cloth on it so she doesn't slip...You are not going to be able to keep her from doing this...these little devils have a mind of their own...I have an adult and a pup...they run around the furniture like the wind! I am so worried they are going to run into something and break a bone....The only way I can get them to stop is to hold the puppy until she has calmed down and sometimes this doesn't work either! If you find a solution...please post it!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | We bought ramps and little Kitty condo's (1 story) and we have them in all 3 bedrooms and the living room so Cali can safely jump up and down off of furniture. Also, we trained her to use these from 9 weeks of age and she always uses them. She is also more oa a scardy cat.

| If you figure it out let me know too!!! haha I have 2 boys, one will not jump off the furniture, just off the bed, he's about 4.5 - 5lbs (depending on the day) and the other one has NO fear!! He will jump off anything! He is a bit bigger at about 8lbs and he just feels more solid & sturdy, but he still scares the crap out of me sometimes! Im afraid of broken bones! I tried repeatedly to get him to at least jump off the couch cushions instead of the back of the couch, so at least he only jumps one foot instead of like 3 feet, but nope! and I have hardwood and tile floors! |

| Oh geez, hard floors! At least I have carpeting in my living room. I too have a scaredy cat and then there's Lucy. I've pulled her off the table 3 times so far today. Abbie looks like she's flying when she jumps up on the sofa she can jump from so far. Lucy just hasn't gotten the hang of it and half the time jumps face first into thw side of the sofa. What a ditz! OH, but how I love her!

| My dexter he is sooo cute.. he cannot jump on the couch too good bc there is no carpeting and hes just so little, but he also jumps from too far away! Me & the guy I date think he is near-sighted and needs glasses haha He almost always jumps from so far away that he rams his head into the cushions and never makes it onto the couch! Poor little guy.. I think he gets embarrassed too bc he walks away like he meant to do that and does not try to come back up for at least a 1/2 hour or so later! hahaha |
