| He plays in his pee! We may be clueless, but we care. Monster is giving us two problems with his potty training. It seems as though he thinks his pee pad is his time out zone. He had the whole pee pad thing, and then seemed to lose it, peeing all over our apartment. When we caught him, we'd pick him up and say "Bad Pee" move him to the pad and say "Good Pee" we would never bat his nose or raise our voices significantly. Now: he knows that peeing on the floor is wrong, because whenever we break out the cleaning supplies he books it for his pad and stands there. However, when I caught him chewing Daddy's shoe and said "Bad Chew" (while walking over with his stuffed piggy with the intention of giving it to him and saying "Good Chew") he ran and stood on his pad. As if, his pad had become a bad boy zone and was his time-out space. We try so hard not to yell and have never used force, but somehow he's just not associating the pad with pee, only with bad. When he does go on the pad (about 50% of the time now), we say "Good Pee" and pick him up and give him a treat - but, still...I don't even know what to do. Also, when he goes on the pad or anywhere else for that matter, he will sit in his urine for a second or so and track little peepee paw prints all over the floor. Is there someway to stop him from doing that? It seems to contradict all nature to us. Anyone else see that before? |

| If he is peeing all over your apartment then you have given him to much space to soon. He can't handle it , so go back to very young puppy training , small area of bed and pee pad until he gets used to where he goes potty. Then with time give him a bit more space but not the whole apartment. He is to young to handle it. About sitting in his pee, I don't know what to tell you, but it is kind of funny, you are going to have to move a bit quicker to clean it up. |
