In defense of those puppies your breeder is shipping all over the country - why don't you contact someone who will make her treat her dogs for their problems ??? No puppy should have to live like that - especially when it's a known problem - :( if your first puppy had the same things - it's time to ask for help for those other dogs she's selling. She should be reported ...or at least ...tell someone who can offer you some help

poor babies - that has to be itchy and uncomfortable and some things untreated can cause some serious other ailments -

lots of puppies are scared when we bring them to us ...they're being taken away from life as they know it - and in your case - flying in a loud airplane ?? I can see him being timid just for those reason alone - GOOD Luck !

and if the breeder IS a member here ...I hate to say this... but you need to clean up your breeding program - that is so not fair to the puppies AND their people...I don't know who you are - but it seems to me you could do much more for your puppies ....since YOU brought them into this world.

I agree. You brought them into this world and they are totally helpless and depended on you-they are your babies too!!! Poor new owners that got their puppies from you-do you know how heartbreaking and helpless it is if things happen to your new baby and to see them suffer?? Probably you don't care much and don't feel the same for the little ones; if not you would have done something about it! :thumbdown

I have to agree with redvette:thumbup:

Something needs to be done. Most know a new pup will be afraid after a flight....but the physical illness, nonono...pups should come to you WELL, not with a lot of vet bills for problems the breeder hasn't taken care of!

I don't think all puppies are scared at a new home
not at all

Tila wasn't scared on bit. not even a little,
she just started "hopping" (her form of running when she was small) around our house and being happy and playing and licking right away
it only took her like 2 minutes, I think because she was sleepy, and tehn she was like "HEY! COOL!"

but I was reading some of the middle postings
and it's really sad how you are all attacking this girl
even if she IS wrong about the breeder
or got a 2nd dog from the breeder when it wasn't a good idea
you don't have to be rude.

Help her as much as we can because I think she is feeling pretty bad right now. Give her a break about getting the second dog from the breeder because I am sure she knows it and do not feel good about is as well.

You can tell the difference in a pup who was shipped clean, health and one who perhaps got sick on the flight. My friend, Mary has shipped my pups to me over the years..I have yet to get one that arrived with vomit or poo in the carrier..all arrive clean, dry and frisky...I am not saying they can not poop or vomit, but they never arrive filthy.
Believe me, there is a BIG difference in the smell of long time filth...there is such a distinct odor that comes from a nasty kennel that does not materialize in a few hours on a plane from being sick.

:thumbup: I had received Coco at the airport and though she had peed in her crate and pooped, she did NOT smell that bad. I of course gave her a bath but I could tell she was clean before because parts of her still smelled good :rolleyes: There is most def. a distinct odor with animals who have not been kept well. Also my baby traveled 5.5 hours and the minute I got her out of her crate, she was hopping around like a bunny. She wasn't shy or scared.

Gia just started showing signs of demodex the same week I got Chewy. The breeder & I did have a good relationship (that's the reason I brought another dog from her). Gia was fine & healthy when I got her in July but last week once she was diagnosed with the demodex (which was on a Wednesday) Chewy was due to come on Friday (the 20th)

The breeder use to respond to my emails but once Gia got sick she is no where to be found. She won't answer my emails or calls

The only reason I'm not naming her is because if Chewy takes a turn for the worst I'm bringing her to civil court & i don't want her t counter suing me for deformation of character (so I'm playing it safe)

Oh my Gosh !!!! Gia has demodex mite the doctor was explaining it to me, but to be honest I really don't know what it is (I'm about to read up on it). I'm so hurt, I broke down in the vet office

I had to leave her at the vet until 5pm today she has to get special baths & take antibiotics. She will have to go for those special baths every two weeks until it clears up. worst case scenario her hair is going to have to be shaved off . But as long as she's alight I don't care

The vet said it was good I brought her in, I'm going to go there from now on

I was suppose to be getting Gia's brother this Friday but the vet told me to hold off because he could end up with the same problem because they are from the same litter


If anyone knows more about this demodex mite please let me know what to expect & what i should do

Why would I buy a another dog from the breeder with the same thing.

Don't post stuff unless you know the full story, that was posted last week after I found out about Gia. I talked to the breeder Friday (the 20th)morning before Chewy got on the plane (i called her 6:45am) she said Chewy was fine & he didn't have demodex and he passed the health inspection. Being that we had a good relationship I believed her .And I don't appreciate you trying to make me look bad. So if you don't have anything positive to say don't post at all

I'm sorry this is going on! What a nightmare!

I've seen that site and talked to the woman here before, and I thought that she was a good breeder. I would have bought from her. I'm saying that so you won't feel like you've been an idiot, or something.

Hopefully she'll realize that it's in her best interest to respond to you, and take responsibility for this. And STOP breeding the dog carrying this in its genes!

However, I do have to agree that just because the pup is sick doesn't mean it's been hit or hollered at. Maybe he just feels really lousy and miserable and scared.

I'm going to post pics of him so everyone can see what pup is going through (visually). I'm taking him to the vet now so he can be dewormed , get his first first pup vac, & his first deeping. My vet bill today will be 253.00 on top of the 199.99 I paid saturady . And in another two weeks he goes back for more shots & another dip
