Donating YT 11K Club Member | How to keep him quiet while out What do you guys do to keep your little ones in their carrier still and quiet? When I take Teddy out in his juicy carrier he stays still when I'm walking, I guess because he is looking at the street, etc and he is entertained but when I am still somewhere or on the train/bus he starts whining, screaming. I have tried with the treats, he'll eat them and stay quiet for a second then start barking again. What do you guys do? I want to be able to sneak him into places w/o him going crazy lol |

| I started Teddy in a bag almost the day he came home (8 weeks old) So he could be in there for hours at a time and NEVER makes a sound. We even took him into a coffee shop for lunch today! What Have found is that to make sure they don't make any noise keep them totally covered so the can't see out. The only time Teddy has ever made a sound was when I make it so he can see what's going on. Give it a try! Kim and Teddy |

| I think it depends on the dog and the environment. Loki also just looks around and stays quiet while we are walking, but he is very used to shopping and 99% of the time I let him walk and only put him in the bag when he gets tired or we go in a shop or something. I took him in a sandwich place today for the first time (I'd never had a fully enclosed bag until now) and he was pretty good until we got our food and then he was squirmy because he smelled the food. (Usually we eat outside and I bring a snack for him to keep him occupied.) I just set him next to me and ignored him and he was fine - he definately could not get out so he gave up. But yeah as soon as we stop he is ready to go. Even in the car - he is up and trying to climb out of his car seat as soon as we park - and he sleeps the second we start to drive. I found it helps to cuddle him closer or to keep sticking tiny tiny treats in the bag a few at a time so he has to keep digging in the bad for them!!

Donating YT 11K Club Member | okay I tried to keep him totally covered but he still whined. Then I tried to keep him in the bag a little at home so he can get used to it but it only made him bark really really loudly. Then when I went to subway to eat he smelled the food and started squiriming also but I just kept sneaking treats in the bag so he can find them and ate quickly and left. Nobody knew he was there. I sneak him everywhere, today into the supermarket and he was fine. It's if I'm somewhere for too long that he squirms or sitting or standing still lol. He's just upset I guess cause he can't walk on the street yet because he's not fully vaccinated and he's very curious and loves running everywhere. |

| You could try giving Teddy a Kong and/or bones to entertain himself with. You might also consider that going out in a carrier isn't fun for him. Sneaking him into places is probably more fun for you than for him. He might be better off at home.

| My Teddy seems to have loved going from the begining. As long as he goes where I go he doesn't mind his bag at all. He usually sleeps the whole time and is really to play once he gets out. I do also keep his very small favorite Teddy bear in there along with a dinti-bone to chew and I small toy that hangs inside sort of like a mini mobile. Oh, and he always has his super soft blanki in there too. Have you tried putting some of his favorite things inside with a comfy blankie? Kim and Teddy |

| Hey, I experiences the same problem with my little one. SHe was perfect while walking, but atarted crying and yellping on the bus...really embarassing! I thinking she might need to be put in the carrier a bit before getting on to the subway or bus. I tried treats in the carrier, ect, but she would not touch them. Good luck, and let me know if you find something that works. |

He doesn't like to stay home either. He follows me EVERYWHERE i go and hates to stay home alone. He starts crying as soon as I leave. I will try something he can chew on for a while, I do put his fav. toy in the bag, with something warm and he always wears clothing to keep warm outside. | |

| Bella is the same way as far as following me around. She is pretty good about when w leave, but there has been crying and even some howling recently. I read that you need to establish independance. I have started sit/stay excersices with her. Leaving the room for longer and longer periods. I can't even go to the bathroom without he freaking. Hopefully these littl things will help. Maybe you should try thr sit/stay thing. |

Donating YT 11K Club Member | yea I do the sit/stay thing also. He is still learning stay, so we are working on it lol. I haven't been able to leave the room w/o him getting up but I am getting closer to the door and turning my back, etc. There are these free training videos online where I learned that from |

Donating YT 11K Club Member | Actually I forgot to say I was really impressed with Teddy today. I went to the supermarket and he stayed quiet and still in his bag the whole time. I gave him a puproni treat like in the middle of shopping, it was only like 10 min but he was really good! I think he is just getting more used to it, I take him out almost everyday in it. |
