| ![]() Does anyone have a problem with their Yorkie jumping off beds or sofas? I have hardwood floors and Otis never lands properly. It's too slippery, and I'm terrified he's going to bust his little knees or land on his neck. So I hate it when he jumps. To solve the problem, my boyfriend made a tiny little wooden staircase so Otis can get on and off the furniture at his leisure. It took a day or two for him to learn to use them, but it's saved me a lot of worry. |

| ![]() I need to do that. One of Yoda's favorite couches has a carpet right below it so he can jump up and down fine, but the other couch, he carpet is a little bit too far away, and sometimes he lands on the hardwood floor a bit too hard. A nice strip of carpet could probably do, but steps are definitely the safest for your Yorkie's joints. Yoda has had some issues with his left knee (?) giving out from jumping or playing too hard. The vet says surgery is possible, but it's quite expensive. At least lately Yoda hasn't had any problems with his joints. |

| ![]() We began to have this problem with Toto and as a temporary fix ... I had four square, flat, 4" thick sofa pillows which weren't being used. We just stacked two of them in front of the sofa and it was perfect because not only does it give her a little boost up but provides her a soft landing. Two little bounces and she is up or down in a blink! I too am terrified of those little knees! These pillows are also really handy to take along when we travel ... she even lies on them and naps ... because God knows she needs extra places to nap! She has six beds and my husband just ordered her another neat one from LL Bean that she just "had to have"! ![]() ![]()

| ![]() That's a really great idea! Your boyfriend should build and sell them!! If he does, put us on the order list! ![]()

| ![]() Yeah, great stairs! The stuff I've tried to find online don't seem to be for Yorkies! Those stairs are amazing! Congratulate him, he must really love your Yorkie to build all that for Otis! Hee hee. |

| ![]() It's one of those look-out car seats. It's about as big as a baby car seat, but it's made of a heavy cushion. I'll try to find a pix of it for you! |

![]() You should consider building stairs. It's really not that hard, and only cost about $30 in materials from Home Depot and the fabric store. They work really well, and now Otis can go up and down them like a champ! | |
