| Weaving for AlaskaYorkie Hi! a few weeks ago you asked for some vids of weaving, Mike. So I thought I'd show you my set up and where we're at with the training, which isn't very far! Here's a link to videos of weaving and the walk up and dancing. http://www.dropshots.com/day.php?use...cdate=20060709 (you might want to put the vids on mute as my high pitched training voice is a little bit annoying!) Below are some photos of the weave pole set up (And one of Dixie in her new tee shirt - just for Eddie.)

| Great videos!!! And - I think your voice is just perfect! You sound sweet and peppy - just what a cute little pup needs. Good luck - your training seems to be going great so far. Carol Jean |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | OUTSTANDING! Dixie is Eddie's heroine. Thanks for the post! I love the ingenious way you have the weave poles set up with the green walls (for lack of a better description). We haven't learned weave poles yet, but I watched another class do it with xpen fences lining the poles. I always wondered how they taught weave poles! Has Dixie started a formal class yet? She's doing great!

| She truly looks like she's having a great time. My yorkies are little mountain goats on the furniture and I've often thought they would enjoy agility. I love training-I need to get going on agility, too! AK Mike-Scout reminded me of Eddie yesterday. We were at the park off leash and I did my whole "Scout, come Scout, come" routine and he came running as fast as he could with a look of utter joy! Wish I had my camera!!

| Great video's - thanks for sharing. Yorkies are so smart and what a great way to burn off some of their energy and bond with your dog at the same time. Keep the video's coming.

Keep up the good work. It really makes you feel like you did something right when they do what they're supposed to!

Dixie's first class starts on the 27th of this month and already she's better at working independently than the Dougal baby is! (that's why she's the star of the videos and not Dougal.) There's an agility comp on this weekend so i'm going to go along and see if I can pick up some tips! We train differently at my agility club. We teach everything at the same time, which makes for a pretty full on training schedule but it's still all fun. DOugal's got Left and Right down pat now! If you want to get that recall zippy again you might want to try only rewarding Eddie when he comes the first time you call - though I'm sure you know that. This works particularly well if you can reward Jack for coming the first time. (Dougal is a green eyed monster and doesn't like it if I make a big fuss of Dixie). I also found that if I make Dougal wait and move quite a way away from him then recall that gets the recall a bit snappier! Thanks to everyone for their kind comments. I love working my dogs for agility and cute tricks and they love it too!

Thanks for the recall advice. Actually, I didn't know that. I'll try! I have noticed that there's some jealousy when I taught Jack "touch." Eddie now sprints to me when I say it out of fear that Jack is going to get the reward. Thanks.

I'm trying to get Dougal to "touch" the mat while I keep walking. It's only 50/50 at the moment but it's a start, eventually I'll work up to running past the mat and getting Dougal to touch.
