| ![]() I have one very quiet yorkie and one yorkie that (other than home) barks quite a bit. It's much easier to train a yorkie to bark than to stop barking. Trust me. Whenever my little man is barking up a storm and people are near, they either say it outright "man, I'm glad I don't have one of those yippie things" or you can see it in their faces. It's frustrating when Jig seems to be out of control with his barking. I've been working on it, but what's a poor yorkie mom to do when her baby is good at home, but turns into a big mouth yapper when he's out in public or with other dogs? Where's the dog whisperer when I need him? If your little one hasn't found his/her voice yet, one day he/she will. Unless there's something physically wrong, you'll hear that bark one of these days and when it's needed it will come out. If it were me, I wouldn't encourage any more barking then necessary.

| ![]() Be happy!!!!!! My mariposa 'mari' thinks the world wants to hear her!! Now, oh the otherhand, Angel doesn't bark. She is the tiny that is actually, she is 10 mos old today! Little sweet angel, she just makes a peep. She is the tiny little one that is 1.o4 lbs. Then there is Rico Suave my giant long hair chihuahua. He doesn't bark unless he hears something, but if ANYONE comes he will bark non stop for an hour!! OMG he can drive a person crazy. He was 2 in Oct. I wish I knew what to do with him! Any ideas anyone? I sure would appreciate it, I wish the 'dog whisperer' were close, I'd beg help!! ![]() |

| ![]() Not to scare anyone. But I have a 8 month old female that has been coughing for 5 months. On and off antibiodics. Possible trachea problem (lets hope not). She had a bark but then as she got sicker the bark gradually became hoarse and low. Just wondering if losing a bark can be a sign of a throat or trachea problem. I told my vet and she said that it will come back. I also notice that when she tries to bark to get my attention it turns into a sneeze. Anybody have any experience with that? |

| ![]() As I type this SImon and Hallie are both screaming, it isn't even a bark anymore, I think they scream! Simon was about 6 months before he started barking loudly. Enjoy the quiet, it will happen soon enough ![]() |

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | ![]() I'm sure your little guy will find his voice soon enough - and, then, you'll be wondering "why" it was that you wished this on yourself! Abbie is 4months, and just now finding her voice.

| ![]() There is no doubt that the overwhelming consensus is - be happy your pup isn't barking a lot - and don't encourage it - and he will probably be barking as much or more than you want soon.... Good luck! Carol Jean |

| ![]() Hi, Preston is 5.5 months and just starting barely barking about 2 weeks ago. He still doesn't really bark. He's learning. I've heard him bark now a total of I'd say 5 or 6 times. It's a tiny (super cute) bark. They're babies and will learn soon enough ![]() |

| ![]() My oldest one Asia doesnt really bark either. She does this sound that is more like coughing. My friends really like to tease me about it. Im actually glad b/c ever since I got Bristol (who is a HUGE barker)...I have become VERY thankful that Asia cant bark. If only she would teach Bristol how to be quiet!!!! |
