| Super Barker Breaker The Barker Breaker has a built-in microphone tuned to the sound of your dog's bark. When your dog barks, it emits a loud correction to startle the dog so he stops barking. Automatically stops and resets itself after each auditory correction, or use manually Have any of you tried one of these before? I've thought about getting one for Bella. When we leave the house, she barks and barks and the neighbor (who lives below us) isn't the nicest guy around. It seems more humane then any of those other shock collars, etc... but I really don't know. |

| i have one that i'm thinking about selling because bunjee doesn't have a separation anxiety barking issue anymore. you can adjust the sensitivity level of the microphone to pick up barks of a particular volume and it does emit a loud beep when the dog barks. the only draw back is that it's not an ultrasonic beep, ie, you can hear it too (i only used it when i was out during the day, not at night). but the good thing is that it does work on remote control, ie, you don't have to be present for it to work. |

| I don't know it, but the way my little ons is, I would guess she would go nuts and bark like mad with a collar like that...

| I tried something similiar several years ago with a Shih Tzu. We didn't have any success with it. She never got the connection between barking and the noise, I don't think. (But then, she definitely was one of the dimmest "bulbs in the box"). She'd bark, hear the noise, look around, and immediately go back to barking. You might do some reading about separation anxiety in dogs as I'd guess there is a good chance that's why Bella is barking. You might also look into the DAP diffuser which is supposed to be calming. Here is a good article on separation anxiety: http://www.clickersolutions.com/articles/2002/sa.htm Good luck!

| The standard issue Barker Breaker was great for getting Edie to stop barking at the office. It was not an automatic beep--you had to push a button to make the correction noise, so I sat with it in my hand and would push the button IMMEDIATELY after the bark, or even during, if I could, so that she would associate the bark with the correction noise. IT WORKED GREAT. I used the citronella collar too. Effective, but it broke. It was expensive. Loved the smell, but dogs hate it. |
