| I've about had enough Lucky is really frustrating me lately . His potty training is regressing. He was doing fine for a very long time. Now he's getting bigger and older (he'll be 1 years old next month.) and I starting giving him more run of the house. Why in the hell did I do that ????? Now he doesn't even hold it when he's out. The little snot will just squat (not lift) on the floor and pee...... The other day I walked into the kitchen stepped in pee and fell on my you know what and i was furious !!!!!!!!! I was too upset to even say bad boy lucky I just put him in his room cleaned it up and went for a walk outside... when I came back I went to his room and he must have knew I was upset because he licked my hand and looked at me with those precious eyes and I just picked him up and held him....He knows my weakness so he looks at me and tilts his little head to the side, we'll who in there right mind can resist that.... I think what upsets me the most is when he's in his room he NEVER has accidents. he uses his litter box faithfully and when I let him out he's only out about 15-20 mins before he has an accident so its not like I keep him out too long before taking him to go potty....this is almost like having a new pup all over again.....maybe it was a mistake to give him more freedom he was doing better when he was only out an hour or two at a time.....

| I can't let Joey out without his belly band. Before Emilee came into season, he did great, but now he has to have a belly band on. It's so funny to watch, because he hikes everywhere and on anything, but I don't have to worry, I just change the pad in his belly band.

| Try putting other litter boxes through out the house.

If i put more litter boxes down it will send the wrong message. Dont you think? I dont want him to potty all around the house. I want him to do what he was doing before, potty in the litter box or outside. I wonder what made him start doing this all of a sudden.

I Love Thor Donating Member | Maybe you should take away his freedom that you gave him. Maybe he is not ready. Try again in a few months time. Good luck... |

| My pup is the same way at 6 months. And, I also have him wearing a bellyband when he has run of the house. Unfortunately, I think this doesn't help train him --but it does keep him from peeing all over the house. I'm glad warmer weather is coming - we are certainly going to spend more time outside. (He hasn't done much of this to date.) Carol Jean |

| *remember positive reinforcement* my yorkie is potty trained and for the longest time she would pee only once in a while in the litter box....and behind me back she'll go on the carpet. The greatest thing is give a little treat and praise ur dog once it does its business in the box. what i do is the moment she sniffs the floor i tell her to go pee pee, i simply point towards the box....and as she goes in the box...i say good girl*happy voice* she squats...gets a treat! and i promise u she'll be loving her potty time. do this for a while till u dont always have to give her a treat but a simple praise. btw///when ur out and ur not there to praise her but she goes and does her pee in the potty, when u arrive home...point at it and praise her, even tho u weren't home....this way she/he, knows that pee belongs only in the potty. let me know if this works in the next few days!! Lucky will catch on very quickly!! |
