Potty training issues....PLEASE HELP Hello everyone...it's been a while but I back. Michi is 8 months old now and potty training is driving me nuts!!! I live in an apartment so I pee pad trained him (actually I use something similar to the whiz dog)., it works great when he uses it. And most of the time he does but there are a lot of times when he will walk right over it and pee on the carpet. It is so frustrating because he is doing that more frequently now....and my apartment smells like one big pee pad!!!! Which is very frustrating because I am kind of a clean freak and sensitive to smells. With that being said I was wondering why products you all have used for accidents? I use nature's miracle but i think I need something stronger. I have read that vinegar and baking soda work but I'm afraid my apartment will then smell like vinegar. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Belly bands catch all those "accidents" and are a gift from the gods!!! I use a solution in my kennel that is fantastic...it is called "Angry Orange"....it is a citrus smelling, industrial strength citrus odor eliminator...it is fantastic! It is rather expensive, but you mix it (8 oz) into a gallon of water, so it goes a really long way...for a one or two dog owner, just mix it 2 oz in a 32 oz spray bottle.....I am trying to work with the people that make it, to make it in a gallon jug...it is rather expensive, but it WORKS!!! and it is NOT a room deodorant...this degrades the causative agent and replaces it with an orange smell that easily lasts a day or more....and that is with a large number of dogs to neutralize! Tell them Judy Wright from Rosehill Yorkies sent you! While it wont get me a price break, it MAY encourage them to get busy and get that solution dispensed in gallon jugs!!!

Thank you so much for suggesting this product. I read the reviews and everyone is so amazed with its effectiveness. Needless to say, I ordered it. I can't wait to try it! (I have spent all day on my hands and knees scrubbing with vinegar, baking soda, and peroxide...even went out and bought a wet/dry vacuum....and I STILL smell pee). I hope this angry orange stuff works! Fingers crossed.

Has anyone used a litter box for training? I am really thinking of doing this for my little Roxie. I will get her on March 15! So excited!

| try taking the pad and soaking up the pee from the carpet on to the pad and say "potty here good boy" that's what I do everytime he has an accident he's been really good about it lately but I "set him up for success" I put him on the pad each time he was from a nap, after playing with him, when I see that he just drank some water I wait about 10-15 min and put him on the pad I tell him go potty when I place him on that pad and he goes on command same with pooping he goes at least twice in the morning and after he eats I wait about 30 min and I place him on the pad and say "go poopoo potty" and he goes. It's a process you just have to be persistent. Happy training!

My new yorkie, Mika, is 6 months old, and we are not making any progress when it comes to potty training. It seemed like we were doing ok, but now she doesn't seem to care where she goes, if she needs to go she just goes....
