Senior Yorkie Talker | Potty Problems We have accepted that our five year old male, Casey, is not house broken. We adopted him last summer and he came to us as a leg lifter. We have pee pads and on occasion he'll use it to poo. Prior to Casey, we had a Yorkie that was pad and outdoor trained. Needless to say, we use belly bands for Casey. They are working out fine. We are careful to wash him with baby wipes when he gets changed. The problem is the odor. He smells like pee. I give him baths every two weeks. It's so cold in the winter, I know he hates bath time. Does anyone have a suggestion for reducing the pee smell? Any possible product? Thanks for any feedback you can give!!!!

| Hi, we are in belly bands too, I am trying to break him from marking everything but I have a very determined little boy. I used baby wipes for awhile, I had the same problem with pee smells. I keep his hair under his belly trimmed super short (Presley has a longer coat), I also use lavender baby powder every time I change him. I have found the baby wipes are not what they are cracked up to be to keep them smelling good. I use wet wash cloths now and it works MUCH better. Presley doesn't smell at all, he gets a bath every 6-7 days. I hope this will help with you

YT 500 Club Member | Try housebreaking. He will catch on, if you are willing to take the time. You will be surprised how much he will like bathroom duties outside. He doesn't like those smelly bands.
