| Leaving Puppy Alone. Advice needed Hi All, My Yorkshire puppy is 10 weeks old. We are using puppy pads to train her until she gets her shots because we currently live in Paris and don't have a lot of grassy areas. I work from home so I am with her most the time. However, once a week I have an event from 6-12 pm. I am so nervous about leaving her alone. I have a Crate ( with blanket on top) inside of her play pen so she can go in and out as she pleases. The pen also has food water, toys and pee pads set up. I also have a baby cam set up incase on emergencies. Will she be okay left alone this long at night? I feel like a terrible mom but I also do not want her to get separation anxiety. Any advice would be great! |

| I think she will be fine....For a couple of nights, I would sleep in a tee shirt or something you can put in with her for that 6 hours when you are away.......you sound like you have a great set up for her ......just continue to do everything you are doing as far as her schedule and feeding, watering....put that nightshirt with YOUR smell on it, in with her when you are going to be away....she should be just fine! If she had an interactive toy of some kind, something she has to work at to reach food treats....I just used to put a handful of their kibble in a 20 oz GatorAide bottle......baby will roll that clear plastic bottle all around, trying to get to the kibble.....and when one and two pieces fall out, they are rewarded and continue with their game! It keeps mine amused for almost an hour, and they will return to the exercise frequently during the time they are alone....it is a ball for them! |

| Welcome to YT and congrats on your new baby, I agree with Yorkiemom1, for 6 hours she will be fine, I would leave a tee shirt with your scent on it in her crate. Leaving them alone once in a while is good for them. gets them use to you not there 24/7 and can eliminate separation anxiety. Training at an early age is good.
