Digging My 17 week old Yorkie started digging everything. I mean everything.....The couch is getting destroyed and the poor poor carpet. I am losing my mind with all the digging. I feel like I live with a cat. I know it is in her nature to dig and I try everything to distract her from this what is becoming a bad habit. I can understand digging for a few minutes to "build a nest" but she will dig until there was a hole in the couch if I would allow her. And one have any suggestions? Right now I have put a blanket down on the couch to save it, but I don't know what to do about the floor. I am thinking of creating a dig area for her and whenever she starts digging more her over to her "dig" space. This way I can focus her digging to a certain area.

I don't have an great ideas, mine does the same thing on my couches, carpet, and beds. I'm interested in hearing the responses from others. What I normally do is give him a stern no, then distract him. Hasn't completely fixed the problem, just gives temporary relief Last edited by LoriML; 05-06-2014 at 09:04 AM.

Thank goodness Gizmo only digs in his pillow and on a snuggie that I use when we take a nap. As soon as he sees that snuggie in my hand, he can't get up on the couch fast enough! He doesn't even dig in his crate when it's bedtime.

maybe her nails are bothering or are already too long? If that's not the case then you could buy her little boots for her front paws until she learns to stop digging everywhere. Last edited by JuanRamos; 05-08-2014 at 09:40 PM.

She also growls when she is digging. Like there is something in the couch or carpet she is trying to hunt down. | |
