| Help!!! Milo is eating his potty pads What should I do. He shreds them and then chews on the paper. Should I just ignore it? What to do if I don't see him do it vs. if I catch him in the act??? Such a little devil!!!! He is 16 weeks and 1 lb 12 oz Such a little silly boy!!! Thanks all |

| I'd switch to washable pads... I believe they're harder to eat!

| LOL, I think you're right about that!!! Actually, I'm only using them temporarily to transition from the pads to our new Piddle Place indoor potty mat- to get him to know that this is where he should potty now. I'm going to be moving the potty pad off the PIddle Place mat very slowly and exposing more of the Piddle Place pad more and more, so that he'll get the idea that this is his new potty place-so it's just temporary, but he's still shredding it. He is so darn cute it is hard to be stern with him, but is there anything I should say to stop him from shredding the pads without discouraging him from going potty on them and the Piddle Place mat? I don't want to discourage or confuse him from going on the pad and mat. That is primarily why I don't know what to do-I don't want to confuse him, but I want him to stop shredding and only use the mat and pads for poop and pee, not to lounge on or rip apart I think I'm confused myself Thanks!!! |

| I would use an 'Ah, ah' to interrupt his activity, then give him a toy or a more appropriate thing to chew on or play with, and lead him away from the pad with it. And tell him 'Pads are for peeing, not playing!' (Worth a try)

| Huey would shred his potty pads, so I changed him over to one of the fake grass thingies...so then he started dragging the fake grass all over the house & leaving shreds of it behind. This went on for weeks and I gave up and decided to train him to go outside only. This is why I have a poorly trained dog...too many changes & not enough training! Good luck!

| Milo is eating his potty pads Does that mean Milo has "POTTY MOUTH"? LOL I couldn't resist! just a thought though... does he have one of those flavored chew toys... something that is yorkie appropriate/safe.... a larger dog would be a raw hide or pig ear....but a yorkie, you'll have to check for safety |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | ....and please don't take this as self serving, as we are the Piddle Place, as my name suggests. i guess i should change my name here to my dogs??? I am here at my Vets suggestion, for the community and to find information on my new Yorkie. But please consider an indoor dog toilet. If not our Piddle Place, some other. I am a nurse, and puppy pads are pretty nasty business and wind up in our landfills. Milo is so cute. I look forward to watching him grow up. |
