| She is soooo adorable , I could kiss that sweet face, but hmmmm I don't think she is a purebred, she had white paws and looks brindle coloured! Don't matter she's beautiful , just hope you didn't pay a lot! Did you get her papers?

| Thanks everyone. I don't mind if she's purebred or not. My main concern is that she doesn't grow past 6-7 pounds. Only because when we're not playing outside we mainly reside in my room. My sister is afraid of dogs and my niece wants to keep bothering her. So I try to keep them away from each other until they're both a little older. I ended up paying $500 for her. I didn't get any papers. Only thing I got was her medical record. |

| I bought a 4ft x 4ft pen for her to play in. Originally I had pee pads lined all over the floor. I was worried if I got her used to eliminating waste indoors that it may become more difficult to train her to do otherwise later on. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | You can train them to go outside when she's older. Just like you don't try and potty train a 6 month old baby, you don't try and train a 8 week old Yorkie. I put Joey in an xpen during the day and when I took him out to spend time with him a pee pad was close by. As your pup gets closer to 12 weeks old you can begin training. At that point, you could begin crate training, they can only hold it for an hour during the day and no more than 3 hours during the night, but you have to take them out every hour. I kept Joey in a small crate next to my bed only at night and took him out every few hours and placed him on a pee pad, but you could do the same and place him outside. Joey's duel trained, it's really great if they will use a pee pad, especially if you can't be home all the time. Doggy doors don't work with Yorkies, they are too vulnerable to predators. Crate training is effective and fast, it can be accomplished in a week or so, but you must be there to do it. An older dog can be crate trained, but only if someone has never trained them to get use to lying in their own pee.

| Thanks. At least it's comforting to know that it's not my lack of effort. Also nice to know I can start training in a month. The sooner I can have her trained the happier we'll both be. |

Yorkie Talker | I tried the pee pads with my 2 yorkies babies and they would rather play and shred it than actually using it for the correct purpose.. I purchased the Rascal Litter Box for dogs (large size) Gabbana uses it 98 % of the time, Dolce is still hit and miss LOL.. Gabbana looks for the box when downstairs on the main level.. she become anxious and uses the newspaper.. Going to order another Litter Box (small for downstairs) can't say enough about the product... I am having great success with this product. |
