| I've attached a string with bells on it to my door at the back which my munchkin 'rings' when he wants to go outside... super handy. It was REALLY easy to train him to use it too. Another signal that he used to use when he was a pup, was to stand by the door and swipe his feet on the carpet... (like they do 'after' they poo)..he only does this after he poos now.

| Okay. One small thing.. my yorkie rings the bell any time he wants to go outside as well...so, its handy, but he may not necessarily associate the bell with his potty time. He was already trained to use a litter box before I implemented the bell. I LOVE the litter box.. he does too.... and, he basically trained himself. One note, if you train him to use the litter box, never use clumping litter.. dogs will eat it and it will stay in their tummys apparently eventually becoming a large clump that could eventually kill them. I use stuff called "yesterday's news" which is actually made of recycled newspaper. Dogs need more area than cats with the litter box as well.
