| 10 month old yorkie won't poo outside. Hi there, I have a 10 month old yorkie named Layla and we have had her for a week. She eats at 8am (8am and at 5pm according to previous owner)and I take her right out after that, but she doesn't go. Then I take her back out an hour later and still nothing this goes on all day. So when her 5 pm feeding comes along she will sometimes wont eat, but if she does I try the same routine of taking her out and still nothing. Her previous owner says he would open the sliding doors and let her out. As that was her sign, going to the sliding doors. However I have sliding doors but never see her go there. She once pooped on the carpet and now she pees there through the late night early morning even when I take her out at 4am almost every morning because she whines and barks for me. I beleive i have to take her back out at 6am as too! She has also gone to my boys room to poop once in their carpet. Could it be that she was paper trained? Or is she still getting used to the sents outside around our house? I'm just not sure where I'm going wrong with the not pooping outside part? She is a great dog, smart loving and great with my boys. I'm just concerned she's holding it in and I feel bad for her. Any advice will be much appreciated! Layla's loving mommy. |

| I got my Colby about 6-7 months(just recently found out his age) He was a little stubborn at first and despite us taking him out very often, he always made sure to hold his poopy so he could do it inside. lol. The only thing that has worked for us is crate training & rewarding w treats & praise when he goes outside. We also kept an eye on him at all times if he wasn't in his crate. We did not allow him to have any accidents. Now we have his bathroom schedule down for the most part. |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Hi and welcome Just keep with it. You only have her for a week. Her life is turned upside down. I would not let her have the run of the house especially when she is home alone or no one is watching her. Good luck little patience

| Hi thanks! Yes this is very true, her life has changed drastically. We have been very loving yet firm so she knows her boundaries. She's a wonderful natured dog and we are so lucky to have her! I have to say she has been awesome when she has been left alone, so far so good. She doesn't tear anything apart or get into anything. Thanks so much for your suggestions!! |
