I actually purchased two of these playpens as I have extra wide doors. Romeo is a little teapot at 15-16 lbs and has NEVER been able to knock these over.

I'm always amazed when someone recommends this particular pen. The evenly spaced horizontal bars are like ladders. ZoE scaled this at 10 weeks old. I wouldn't recommend this particular pen for anything other than the most docile lazy pup imagineable.....certainly not for an climber.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I wish the pen would work, but it's not tall enough. The one we had was 28 inches high & he was up and over in no time at all!!

My newest little guy jumped our baby gate daily...in fact, several times a day. It took us awhile to realize it as he could just as easily scale it to get back in to our mud room. Little brat. We had one of the gates with a bunch of the circle holes in it, and when he couldn't jump it, he would simply climb it.

So, we looked around and finally found an extra tall gate (to help with the scaling issues) that had vertical slats and no horizontal ones (to help with the climbing):

He's no longer able to scale it, making me worry less about him breaking his legs. In other news, he now eats all my baseboards instead. You win some, you lose some!

Oh..and we're on the lucky end. Neither of our boys can get through. We had thought of zip tying some snow fence to it had that been an issue. Perhaps that would work?

Yep sbgooljar! Our little girl is a Houdini! LOL We finally figured out that she was scaling the playpen to the top of her crate and then would try to get out. I went out and bought a plastic storage container the size of her crate and put it on top securing it with a bungee. She hasn't been able to escape since! I'd like to find something a little bigger than this that she wouldn't be able to escape that I don't have to put a lid on. Any ideas?

We put him in our laundry room during the day, so was looking for an escape-proof gate. I've got a 36-inch mesh gate ordered from Walmart. I'll keep you posted!

We have 2 of these. One with clear panels and one with frosted. I like the one with the frosted panel the best because it quickly adjusts (with one hand once you get used to using it) to whatever doorway/hallway I want to put it in. The one I have that has clear plastic takes a little more effort to resize. I bought both of them in the baby section of the Navy Exchange, so I am guessing that they are available in places like Target or Walmart.
