| Crate Training? Okay, so I'm getting a new yorkie puppy next Thursday! And I've been weighing all of my options on potty training from what I've found researching on the internet. I've decided on crate training. I've bought one of the plastic pet taxi crates because I read stories about puppies and even older yorkies getting their paws stuck in the wire ones, and even fracturing their little paws! Am I making a good choice? Let me know any tips or thoughts you all have! Everything is greatly appreciated, especially since I'm soon to be new mommy!

| YAY!! A new puppy! How exciting~~ First of all, crate training worked wonders for us. We piddle pad trained because we live in a high rise and the winters are brutal here. We have a five-month old boy (fully potty trained within two weeks of crate training combined with xpen system) and a nine-week old (we brought him home two weeks ago and he's already fully potty trained). Opinions will differ when it comes to any type of training, but with the system we used (I won't go into details here because it'll become an essay), we are completely satisfied with the results. I'll just add...PATIENCE and CONSISTENCY probably contributed immensely to our success. I'm sure you'll have oodles of fun with your new bundle of joy~ |
