| ![]() This is not the OPs dog! He said it belongs to his girlfriend....I can tell you that I would rehome him before I would rehome my pup. Anyone who could not be patient with a 4 lb pup has no business living in my home.

| ![]() First concern is the dog's health... consult a vet about siezure activity/health concerns asap. Second concern is whether your gf is even interested in becoming a responsible pet owner. What I gathered from your post is that she hasn't been for seven years now and you are currently doing all the "disciplining". If you are both on the same page about wanting to improve your relationship with this yorkie, then it is time to contact a professional (positive reinforcement) trainer. Sounds like she is small, confused, anxious, and now scared. Please remember that it is not Bailey's fault that her owner did not take the time to train her properly.

| ![]() Maybe it was simply a suggestion that he can bring up to his girlfriend, the owner of the dog.

| ![]() And, let's hope she has enough sense to pick the right one to surrender.

| ![]() Ladyjane, you hit the nail on the head! Rehome the man, not the dog. Poor little baby - probably living in fear and insecurity 24/7 as long as OP around.

| ![]() I for one have no patience with an adult human who says that they have hatred for a small animal due to its panic and pain and stress - and I guess I never will. Hatred????

| ![]() If you're a person who finds it necessary to show your dominance over a 4lb dog and discipline it in a such a way that it is terrified of you. And in addition you express your hatred for said dog....it's probably wise not to post on a forum of dog lovers.

Hopefully he will discuss this with his girlfriend. Rehoming at this point may be in the best interest of this pup. Bailey needs to be shown love and not have to live in fear. If it is so bad that the fear causes medical concerns, then I think this offer is a good discussion to have with his girlfriend.

| ![]() How is it being judgemental when the OP states that a 4lb pup is ruining a relationship and the dog literally has a heartattack when it's Mom leaves? It's not being judgemental, he asked for opinions, and to be honest, his story sounds like many that I hear when I look at dogs who have been dropped off by rescues. And with regards to full of themselves, their best interests is for the dogs. How is that being full on oneself? By the way, OP and previous poster, there's no such thing as a teacup...Sorry didn't mean to sound so full of myself.[/QUOTE] You are being judgemental when you are saying things such as you dont know what he is going to use for a punching bag next when the pup is out of the house...really?? He never said anything about hitting the dog you just jumped to that conclusion = Judgemental. And yes, I know there is no such thing as a teacup I had to make up a name for this forum and my yorkie is on the smaller side so I picked TeacupLove. But thanks for being so smart and pointing that out to me..You full of yourself? Never? One last thing...He didn't ask for people's opinions he is asking for advice on how to handle training the pup better...he is actually looking for help so instead of calling the guy an abuser actually give some advice, and if you don't have any then just keep your opinions to yourself. |
