| how do you get a pee pad puppy to start peeing outside? It took a little over a month, but we finally got our 4 month old puppy, Tinkerbell, pretty much fully pee pad trained. However, now that it is warming up outside, I'd like for her to go out there, too. I take her for pretty long walks and will let her roam around in our yard a little while sometimes (I have to stay close because we are in an open area where LOTS of hawks tend to circle looking for prey!) but she never goes outside. She runs inside and goes instantly. How can I get her to understand it's OK to pee outside?? I have NO intentions of making her ONLY go outside. I personally don't want to have to walk her in the pouring rain or freezing cold. I would just like her to go outside when we are out there instead of whinning to go back inside every hour so she can pee. |

| Mine is almost 4 months and she is doing good outside. When we are in I have the pee pad down but mostly she goes outside. I just take her out right after she wakes up, I don't even let her little feet hit the floor first. Then I take her right after she eats, after she naps, etc. It takes a while outside even if I am standing next to her. It's as if she is looking for the right spot. LOL. Good Luck

| Does she pee on command? As in does she understand what "go pee pee" mean? If she understands that, set up a schedule or go by her potty schedule and take her outside. Give her the potty command and treat and praise when she does it right. It might take a while but she'll understand eventually.

| You could take a soiled potty pad outside (put a small rock on it so it doesn't blow away) and put your pup on it. |
