| Some have had luck with pineapple, others say meat tenderizer works, there are also products that you can buy at the pet stores or online. Most of them do outgrow it. Try to keep it picked up. You can also try feeding different food to see if that helps. |

| We did the pineapple for Rylie thanks to YT! Granted she only did it a handful of times... but I wasn't keeping THAT habit up. She LOVES the pineapple. We use it for training treats and she thinks she's getting a reward. It has worked for us so far... at least I haven't seen her have any interest in it since. Then again, she only did it a few times prior and not consistently so who knows! I'm going to just keep it up anyway just in case and she also loves the stuff and it isn't bad for her... so why not? |

I would try the pineapple it has worked for a lot of people here... let me see if I can find the epically long, infamous poop thread for you. That's what I read and decided on pineapple.

| Hello I'm a newbie! comenting on Eating Poop! Hi there, I'm new and have lots of stories and questions from my adoption of an adorable 5yr. old Standard Sized Yorkie named Petey, (he had a secret addiction of eating poop) he came with tons of bad habits (that we weren't told about) just by chance we found out one was eating kitty poop! even when covered with clumping litter (real bad for them), I didn't notice until I figured the cat must of been constipated and then almost the same day I was pooper scooping the yard and I looked closely at Petey's poop and it was full of kitty litter! and very pencil shaped and thin, which told me he wasn't having normal poops! The one thing I started to do was give him about 1/4 to 1/2 of a small banana everyday, because I heard it might be a mineral/vitamin deficiency ( Potassium, B-Vits ). well it seems to have worked, but I also put the litter box into a tall rubbermaid tote that he can't reach his neck into! So maybe try banana's ! When I asked the previous owner about Peteys obsession, she laughed and said he used to bring the tootsie rolls upstairs to her like it was something he caught and had great pride in! I just had to shake my head! I'm just glad Petey lives with us now!! Hope to meet lots of you soon!: |

| My Izzy eats poop n I am at my wits end. She is 1 yr n has always done it. She doesnt eat her own but as soon as Henry poops, she runs in there n starts shredding it apart... Sometimes she just makes a mess of it and shreds it in 100 little pieces... This is so weird to me. I am going to try the pineapple but if u find something else please let me know... Quote:

Has the pineapple worked? Do you put chunks of pineapple mixed in the food?

| I gave Rose the pineapple treat and she does not eat hers anymore! I use to have to put cut it in small pieces and put it with her food because when I first tried she refused it, but now I just drop it in her bowl and she eats it alone! I can honestly say it works! Good luck! |

I went to my vet today and got my normal vet's partner for the pre-op exam. Anyway, I told her about the pineapple and she had never heard of it! She told me to let her know how Rylie continues to do on it and let her know. Does anyone know if this works for ALL dogs? Even big ones?
