Embarassed Hello I'm a newbie! comenting on Eating Poop!

Hi there, I'm new and have lots of stories and questions from my adoption of an adorable 5yr. old Standard Sized Yorkie named Petey, (he had a secret addiction of eating poop) he came with tons of bad habits (that we weren't told about) just by chance we found out one was eating kitty poop! even when covered with clumping litter (real bad for them), I didn't notice until I figured the cat must of been constipated and then almost the same day I was pooper scooping the yard and I looked closely at Petey's poop and it was full of kitty litter! and very pencil shaped and thin, which told me he wasn't having normal poops! The one thing I started to do was give him about 1/4 to 1/2 of a small banana everyday, because I heard it might be a mineral/vitamin deficiency ( Potassium, B-Vits ). well it seems to have worked, but I also put the litter box into a tall rubbermaid tote that he can't reach his neck into!
So maybe try banana's ! When I asked the previous owner about Peteys obsession, she laughed and said he used to bring the tootsie rolls upstairs to her like it was something he caught and had great pride in! I just had to shake my head! I'm just glad Petey lives with us now!! Hope to meet lots of you soon!:
