Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | We had our first 100 percent accident-free day! I'm so proud of Tallulah I'm beside myself. This morning I caught her twice getting ready to piddle on the floor - both times I quietly said "No, Tallulah. Use your potty pad." she gave me her sideways mischief look and moved right to the pad. She used it a third time without prompting before she went to Yorkie Camp for the day. Tonight I set her down a few feet from the pad and said "Go use your potty pad." And she did! Later we were playing in the kitchen when she took off running down the hall and disappeared into the bathroom. She needed to poop and went straight to the pad. Major victory here since she has been pooping wherever she happens to be when she feels the urge. She used the pad two more times without any prompting tonight. I know this is only one victory in a much larger war but this day will go down in T's blog for sure. Apparently the praise for good behavior is making an impression even though she seems indifferent to it. |

| That is AWESOME! I still remember when we would have those 100 percent accident free days as a puppy and how exciting it was! Congrats Tallulah!

| My little one Bella is 4 months old and this week we had two days in a row with no accidents and I was so proud of her. I am potty training her for outside. I think the praise really works and for my little girl also treats |

| It's really time to celebrate! I'm so happy for you both. It's so nice when they suddenly "get it".

My guess is they have too much freedom. You need to keep their space limited until they are trained. When you see them, say no and either take them to the pads or outdoors. You could try what I did. I would say "uh-oh" everytime I caught her and then I'd go get the cleaner and of course she followed me everywhere. I'd lecture her while I was cleaning the spot. I can still remember the last accident she had. While I was lecturing her, she was looking right up into my face and I was sure she actually understood what I was saying. Anyway, "uh-oh" was my signal to her that she was messing up. To this day, if I say that, her lil head will pop around and look at me like, "What did I do?" I taught her to ring bells to go outside or to my garage where I have pads so that in inclement weather she will have a place to potty safely. We have some terrible thunderstorms and snow storms and there are many times she just couldn't have gone outside. I trained my last yorkie that way, too. It worked out well.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | It didn't last. But I didn't really expect it to. She still has three specific spots that she likes to use (unless I put a piddle pad there) but overall she improves daily. It will be interesting to see if she regresses after boarding at Yorkie Camp for a few days. |
