| WHY wont he stop with the leash pulling already?! Okay, im at my wits ends with this leash pulling. Hammer pulls SO hard when we are walking he is CONSTANTLY choking, gagging, weezing and out of breath. Ive tried stopping until he loosens up and ive tried the walking in the other direction thing. He somewhat better when on a retractable leash, but i hate using those and would rather use a regular one. ANY ideas? I hate seeing my Hammer like this, but i HATE being walked also. Also, any suggestions for a harness that is less violent on him, until he learns to walk nicely? Trick or treating yesterday was a nightmare, and i had to end up carrying him around (he is 13 lbs, not fun) help us! |

| Try an Easy Walk Harness or a Gentle Leader, both by Premier. You can also take treats and teach him that there is no pulling or you stop. Just go out and walk with him, if he pulls STOP or change directions. Teach him to watch you and give him treats when he does it well. Also, I find that mine only pull the first block or so of the walk. If I pick up the pace even slightly (not even to a run), they stop pulling. They just want to walk faster than I do Since it's *their* walk, I give in, and by block 2 they are happy to stroll along at a slower pace So maybe try running him around a little bit and tire him out first.

YT Addict | How often do you walk him? Lexi is generally a good walker, as long as she regularly gets out. If there is a longer period between walks, she'll start to pull and get all excited. So sometimes I try to tucker her out BEFORE her walk with a quick game of fetch.

| Agree on the EZ Walk harness! Chattiesmom also makes GREAT silk harnesses, with the option of having BOTH the d-ring on the back and the front. Kikopup is a GREAT user on YouTube.

| I saw you posted in my Cooper Miracle Walker thread. for the Easy Walk. It will change a lot of things for both of you.
