| Scared the poop back in? A few times I have caught my 13-week-old Morkie about to poop in the house. I clap, say NO, and take him outside, but then he doesn't poop, and instead waits another hour or two and then poops. Did I scare it back in??? Is there an alternative? Thank you! Julie |

| This is a tough one. you probably have scared him from pooping. He doesn't know you are clapping and saying no to pooping IN the house- he thinks you are saying no to pooping- period. What REALLY needs to happen is for you to take him out BEFORE he starts to poop inside. Let him wander and sniff- be very low key. when he finally poops- BIG PARTY! Lots of love and praise and treats galore! if you do miss and he starts to go in the house- just go over and pick him up- bring him outside and praise him- even if nothing comes out- you are praising that he is outside where he needs to poop. This is going to take a while now since he has a negative association with pooping- but keep at it! |

| Well I guess the good news is that he has pooped outside several times and always gets tons of praise (I don't even have to fake it --i really am that excited!). But I should no longer say anything when he poops inside? Just let him go? Or pick him up and run outside? And then praise him outside even if he already just pooped inside? Sorry for all the questions. I just want to get this right! Thank you! Julie |

| I always used the word "POTTY"....so everytime he did, I would then praise him like crazy "GOOD POTTY". I always used the same words so he would learn to relate....I just ignored when he did it inside, thinking he wouldn't know why i was scolding him anyways....Didn't take long...He now does a potty dance when he has to go outside, LOL
