| eating and playing w poop I have an almost 8 month out female baby named Izzy who insist on playing with her poop and at times eating my male Henrys poop. I stay at home with them and they are 100% trained to the pee pads so I am checking it constantly to get it picked up asap so she cant get to it BUT sometimes she beats me to it. If I leave the house I put Henry in his crate since he will not potty in it and I leave her out (they have their own room) w the gate up since she can't hold it as long in her crate. But everytime i come home n she has pooped on her pad(shes very good at always useing the pad) she has scattered the majority of it all over the place as if shes playing with/in it. HELP! Does any one know why she does this and is there anything i can do.... |

| My dog use to eat underwear and we put tabasco sauce on it and then gave it to him, so when one of your dogs poo put tabasco sauce on it or hot sauce because it will train them not to eat it, because it would be nasty! hope this helps! and you may think this is "wrong" but its not!

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | there are deterrents you can add to their food that tastes good going in but then makes the poop taste bad so they won't eat it or touch it. Some you can get from your vet or pet store. Others you may have at home like pineapple chunks (simplest one to try first). morgan never played with poop but she used to take anything that fell on the floor to play with (paper, receipts, magazines, pens, etc...). I used the "booby trap" method for this. I would take a little piece of paper and spray it with bitter apple then "accidentally" drop it. she would go after it, take one bite, then spit it out and leave it alone. worked like a charm. So maybe you can use this method with poop as well. Tabasco sauce or bitter apple spray should work but obviously you need to be around when she poops to do this, or set up training sessions with flavored poop. haha
