| you can actually google that and there are videos that teach you that! I had to google it when I first got my yorkie also but she was actually nameless for a week before we finally decided on a name. we tried out different names with her first and when we called her Ellie she seemed to perk up lol. It shouldn't take too long I think and you can probably accomplish it in 10 minutes but what I learned from the videos was that your actually suppose to sit down with her and call her name. When you call her name and she makes eye contact with you, praise and give her a treat. She'll get it really fast make sure you use a treat that she realllly enjoys, that always helps! Our German Shepherd can be unruly when he wants but if we pull out a treat that he reallly likes, he'll do anything we ask. |

| Best thing I learned from Petsmart training classes was the name game. I highly recommend using a clicker to train. Pretty much take the clicker & "load it" by click & treat .... around 25 times. I used kibble for this. Then say "Abri" and wait for her to look at you ... the moment she does ... CLICK! after about 20-25 times (avg Yorkie takes 22 times to learn a trick) they go "oh you say my name I get a treat ... i like it!" and they will always look at you when you say their name! Again there are some great videos out there!

| It's based off of operant conditioning, pure psychology. It's how we learn all essential behaviors. If you figure out that you get a positive reinforcement for a behavior, it is likely to be repeated. Eventually ... after you can call her name and get her to turn her head pretty much all the time ... then you only treat 1/3 times then 1/2 times and then randomly. This works with all behaviors/tricks. It's not so much teaching her that her name = a treat but more so that her name= something really good! Its just while she's learning (which is why I did kibble so they don't get spoiled and earn their food) but if you prefer you can do a click and praise or play as well. It's just a matter of learning what a pup gets excited about and is worth their time. =)
