I haven't tried this.. but I read it in a book, in theory it sounds like it works.

If they are barking at the door, when someone comes. The second they stop barking say a word "quiet" or something and give a treat. use the word as the marker for the good behavior. they will eventually learn that being quiet for a few seconds gets a treat.

Like I said I read it in a book, Harley doesn't bark that much so there has been no reason to try it, but it sounds like it should work.

I tried and the sound does take them off guard but its a waste of money. It didn't faze my german shepherd at all and my yorkie just kinda looked confused when she heard the sound.

What kind did you buy? Some people say that some types work much better than others.
