| Accidental use of life vest Dante (15 weeks old, 3 1/2 pounds) went poop outside (yah!). When he came in, he was trying to get to his rear. So I checked, and sure enough, he needed cleaning up. When I got a wet paper towel and tried to get to the mess to clean... he went nutso. Yipping and twisting and trying to bite me... Wow! I have always had long-haired dogs, so periodically having to clean up their rears isn't a big deal. But my Kerry Blue Terriers, tho they don't like it, just give over quickly and let me lift their tails and do what I have to do. Dante was NOT giving over, and I would have needed 6 hands to hold him safely while I cleaned. Hmmm... Remembered that when I put him in the oversize life vest I got him (Outward Hound), he seemed immobilized. So I velcroed him in... and voila - he wasn't happy, but he let me get him clean. Couldn't twist and turn and escape and bite. So... if you need a little help for something like that... don't hesitate to use a life vest! |

| Hi and Welcome to YT! What an excellent idea! I don't believe I never thought of that. I've used thick bath towels to wrap them in to inhibit their movement, but it won't stay put... hmmmm think I'll do some nails today! Thanks!

| Awesome tip! I am going to keep that one in mind for my little squirmmer. Kind of gives a new meaning to the term "life" vest. Thanks for the tip.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | That's an awesome tip. I'm going to have to try it when I do Rhett's nails.

| Update: I tried the vest on Betty Boop when trimming her nails. Didn't work....at least not with just myself holding her. I will get the dh to help me this week and will try again.
