| Hi, I just wanted to add my thought on things as well, I understand EXACTLY where you're coming from. At my parents house we own 3 larger dogs one in particular is a mix labrador type of dog and she is absolutely amazing and trained beautifuly. Now I have a Yorkie puppy. It's a huge difference. However I always remind myself that Kilo(my bigger dog) was a puppy once too, and my parents had her trained. The same applies to our little Yorkie puppies=) I'm not sure the age of your dog or how long you've had her, but all dogs need training and guidance. It wont happen over night, in weeks, or not even in months. Everything is a slow progression. And here's an example: we got our puppy at 6-7 weeks, just weaned of her mother and being introduced to a new environment. I automatically had her cage and litter box set up. week 8: By this week she started going to the litter box on her own when she was outside of her crate. She also leanred the sit command very fast, she learned come, place, and her name. week 9: she hasn't had an accident in almost a week and has been moved out of the crate to her own little room with her litter box and is now sleeping in her room instead of the crate. She also learned down, leave it, and "go room". She just started getting used to walking on her leash and went all the way down the street! week 10: we are currently working on "stay", "wait", and continuing the leash training. As you can see everything is small steps at a time, at first she'll be really confused, but slowely she will understand. I really suggest doing some extra reading on training, I've learned so much and all the commands I elarned to teach her on my own as well as the litter training all from reading. I had a private trainer come to the house, unfortuently in LA its more expensive and the cost was $75. I am also planning on taking her to a class. If you work with her and assert yourself and the "leader" it will also help Until she is well trained: 1. Always feed yourself first 2. Never let her walk out of a door first, say "wait" and then "ok" when its safe for her to walk 3. don't let her sleep in your bed, the leader always sleeps up high to protect the pack 4. make her sit everytime before she eats, and then make her sit & wait until you say its "ok" little things like this can make a big difference. Good luck and let us know how things are going. If money isn't a big problem definitly have a trainer come to your house to help you learn the commands and definitly read some obedience training material. I ordered 2 ebooks that were really wonderful "sitstayfetch" and "100 English words to teach your dog". they are ebooks so you can download them as soon as you order them. The sitstayfetch book as some really interesting material on becoming the alpha dog=) Good Luck!
