| I just HAVE to brag on my little man!!! Toby turned 3 months on 10/10/05 and he already knows how to sit, lay down, and shake. He usually picks it up in about half and hour. I am just so proud of him....is this common in yorkies? Another thing he scratched the door yesterday!!! Now that is a real achievement! Anybody in here know any other tricks that they can tell me how to teach him? I would appreciate it!

| Sure, try these: "roll over" (obvious) "show me some belly" (rolls onto her back and stays 'till I release her) "say please" (sits when she's wants food, treats, etc. - usually does this without a reminder 'cause she won't get the treat 'til she sits anyway) "right here" (runs to my pointing hand, touches it with her nose, then promptly sits where I'm pointing) "go outside" (pees on command - had to do this, and the next one, 'cause housebreaking her was soooo hard) "go potty" (poos on command - obviously, I can only give this command once a day; if I ask her to potty when she doesn't need to, she'll squat, hold for a minute, then look over at me with the funniest "ok, Mom?" look on her face) "sit pretty" (sits on her haunches with her paws curled up against her chest - we're still working on this one, but ohhhh, it's so cute!) I'm sure others have tricks they can post, too. Our Yorkies are so intelligent and happy to learn! |

| Bang Bang you are dead is a game that my one yorkie Bengie knows. When he sits, I point my finger at him like it is a gun and say "BANG BANG" he falls over. the way I taught him this was to say bang bang and roll him over til he was all the way on the ground, then give him a treat, now all I have to do is say BANG BANG and he is down for the count. Also, he jumps in the air and gives me a two pawed high sign, gives me five, plays a slow "Pat a Cake", gets his leash, finds the cat, opens the cabinet in the kitchen for his "pupcorn", sits, dances on tip toes, shakes, lies down, rolls over, plays hide and seek and tag, etc. We are working with hoops right now. |

| All right! I can already tell that Toby is too smart for me, so I guess I won't be coming up there to take him off your hands after all! You might want to look up this site: loveyourdog.com/tricks2.html Have fun!
