Potty Advice I have a 5 month old male yorkie who, for the most part, is potty trained. I have him bell trained so when he needs to go potty he rings the bell that I have placed by the door. The problem is he is going potty about every hour or two. I am wondering how I can increase his bladder control. It seems like he needs to go that often even if he doesn't have anything to drink. He can spend 6+ hours in his kennel and not have a problem but as soon as he is out and about with me he's ringing his bell non stop. Thanks for any help and advice.

I think you are doing a great job! I have a 3 month old. I am crate training him to go outside. I am wondering the same thing. I notice he can hold it in his crate, but he has to go outside once every hour or two. How old was he when you were able to leave him in his crate for six hours?

He was about 4 months when he was able to wait about 6+ hours. My job doesn't allow me to get home on a regular basis so he pretty much had to learn to hold it. He's also doing a great job knowing that when I sleep that he needs to stay quiet, which I praise him greatly for since the days that I work he spends a lot of time in his kennel. I'm thinking i'm going to have to just put him in his kennel for a while and make him realize that he can't be going out every hour or two when he gets that urge.
