| I have a 3 1/2 year old rescue that is neutered. We've had him a month and he started hiking his leg on the couch (don't know why because we take him out a LOT!) but whenever we see him go towards the couch I say his name to distract him and tell him no. It's been over a week now and rewarding him while he is in the yard after he goes potty has been working GREAT! There's still hope. If we are gone for more than an hour, I put a belly band on him just in case. I too have heard dogs don't like to wet themselves and will only potty in the belly band if they can't help it. I hope that's true!
