| New way to teach down? Nozzle is a year now and knows sit very well, but not down. I've tried doing the L with a treat, but he just looks at me very indignantly...like "why aren't you giving me the treat? I sat!" I've also tried gently placing him in a down and treating him, but he doesn't quite seem to grasp it. Is there another method I've missed to teach him down? |

| Okay ... this is what you do First try with putting the treat in your hand on the floor If he just sits there like ... okay now what try this Sit on the floor place your leg in front of him to make a kind of bridge and place your hand with the treat on the opposite side so he will have to crawl on his belly in order to get it That's what worked for me

| Sometimes the tinies do not understand "down" b/c they are so small when you put the treat on the floor it is barely a few inches below them and they will just look at you. What you do is put them up on a stool or chair. Have then sit, then say "down" and put the treat lower than the seat level, that way they will have to move down to get closer to that treat.
