This is so funny... I've had Sasha for 3 days now and she loves to nap with me. I keep her in her crate overnight so she won't have any accidents (not to mention I'm scared by hubby would roll over on all 3 lbs of her during the night!), but she doesn't have accidents on the bed (knock on wood!)! She is so sweet, even my hubby is a big baby with her, which I never saw coming! You know how they are..."Hey shrimp, you wanna come up on my lap? Yes, you're a good girl!" All the while making the baby voice at her lol! |
Ava (4 mos) has her small "bedtime crate" in my bedroom. She starts out sleeping with me, and then half way through the night I take her to her pee pad which is in her large daytime crate, and then she goes in her bedtime crate for the rest of the night. When she was younger, I used to have to wake up 3 times during the night to take her to pee. Cutting off her water at 7:30pm has helped too. |
My Yorkies Hi My yorkies, Calleigh & Patti sleep with me. I live alone, my husband died 15 years ago and they are great company. I never remarried - so they are my babies and family. LB, Calleigh, Patti:aimeeyork |
Ebony has slept on my bed from when she was 9 wks old..... starting in her crate on my bed coz i was worried about rolling over on her or her falling off my bed, and since i moved into my new house 5 wks ago and while ive been waiting for my bed to arrive ive been sleeping on the sofa.... which has been shared with myself, her and the cat.... and you dont think a double bed is big enough for 4 of you lol. She will be 2 in April and will be a new Mummy in 4 weeks :D x x x |
I read it's not a good idea to let your dog sleep in your bed, Alpha and all that, but who can resist? Normally I start him on a pile of blankets next to the bed and in the morning will invite him in. Sometimes he starts out in the bed, and there have been very few accidents -- he can jump down if he has to. This morning the poor little guy puked in my bed, but he's fine. The sheets are in the wash now. Right now I'm crate training him so he sleeps in his crate next to my bed where he can see me and watch TV. :) Once he gets the hang of going outside we'll probably go back to sometimes in bed and sometimes not. At least he doesn't go crazy or bark his head off if I don't let him in. |

All three of ours sleep in our bed and we have no issues besides getting licked in the face once in a while in the middle of the night. LOL :) To avoid middle of the night distress if one of them does happen to get sick, we keep a piece of fleece on the last 1/4 of our bed near our feet. They rotate all over the bed , of course, but as luck would have it if anyone has gotten sick its been on the peice of fleece so I didn;t have to wash our nice cover. We're very careful with what ours eat so *knock on wood*...no one has gotten sick in quite some time. :) Its much harder to control though once the weather warms up and they get to run freely outside. You never know what they might pick up and if you have more than one its a bit harder to keep a keen eye on all at once :) |

I've let Sir sleep in my bed since he first came home. I know, everyone says crate training is the way to go but I couldn't leave him in the crate all alone that first night. Before bed, I make sure to take him out one last time and then we immediately go to bed (no water or snacks). Then in the morning before I do anything I take him outside. This seemed to be a good process because he learned that the bedroom was sort of his den, and then slowly figured out that the rest of the house was off-limits, too. He's to the point now where if it's a real emergency, he'll lick me and make a fuss till we go out. But at first I'm sure your puppy will have accidents, so pee pads on the floor next to your bed might be a good idea if you want to go this route. Hope this helps! |

The first night Lucy came home she stayed in her crate. She was really sleepy from the drive (she came from 2 hours away) and it was late at night when we got home. Since then, I just can't make her sleep in it. She cries and wants to be in bed with us so of course I give in! At 12 weeks Lucy has only had one accident in the house and that was the first night. I literally spend every minute with her and have already learned when she needs to go out and about the times. She has not had an accident yet in our bed either (knock on wood). She usually wakes us up around 6am by giving us kisses, letting us know that she needs to go out :) She's a good alarm clock for her daddy! Hahahahaha!!!! She brings her toys and her own blanket over to the bed and looks up at me to put it all up on it. It's really cute! Like someone else said, we're lucky she lets us share HER bed now. :heart toKandi |
My Lexi is only 4 months. She sleeps in her own bed downstairs in a play pen, I've only made her crate as a safe place to eat and for when we're traveling. She keeps quiet and sleeps for the 8 hours that I'm sleeping. Maybe in the middle of the day I'll take a nap and she'll nap in my bed, but other than that, she sleeps in her own bed at night. So far she hasn't peed on the bed, she usually looks for the pee pad and gets antsy, especially if she's on my lap. That way I know she has to pee and I just put her on the floor. |
Yes she does! :) |
Olive sleeps with me, and she has from day one. It also helps that my bed is a mattress on the floor and she can just hop off to her potty pad if she needs to. |
Once Morgan was potty trained, we let her start sleeping on the bed. She is five months old now and has not ::knock on wood:: had a single accident in our bed. |
My little Tucker has slept in bed with me since day one :) At first I was scared to squish him so until he was about year old he slept on my pillow next to my head. Then he got to big and took up the whole pillow, he loves to get under the covers at my feet now! He is a great foot warmer in the winter. The only time he has ever peed the bed was the first day I got him, and had him at my boyfriends before we lived together( i think he was just marking his territory HEHEH:D). Lets just say boyfriend was a little upset, and I was amused. |
