I agree with someone who said that their dog let's them sleep in her bed! Same thought! Louis and Paris sleep with me and Napoleon is in a shallow laundry basket next to my pillow so Paris can jump in and out when he needs her! There is nothing better than 2.5 furry people cuddling up at night! Last night everyone was conked out on their backs! Hysterical! Need to get a picture of 8 paws in the air! It's like they are saying "pure heaven mom!" and who am I to deny them of that!! LOL! |
Pups in bed :aimeeyorkIn the very beginning I crated, but it wasnt long before I couldnt bare it any longer and brought them into bed with us. :(I know people frown on this but after awhile you miss them if they arent curled up next to me! Good luck!:animal36:animal36I have a feeling the puppy will win!:D |
We have Sandy's bed next to ours. He's allowed to sleep with me now because his daddy is on business trip for 2 weeks! |

Other posters are right, though, he's made it his bed. I always wake up in the morning pushed to one side, with Elliott curled up in the middle of the bed. He weighs 4 pounds, and I weigh quite a bit more. I don't know how he does it! |
Yes, and Sophie is a real bed hog!!:dogzzz: She keep us both on the very edges of our king bed:rolleyes: |
Milly slept in her crate until she could hold off on toileting all night. Once she was big enough, I let her sleep with me. She curls up next to me every night, and every morning when it starts to get light she crawls under the duvet to continue snoozing. When I go on holiday now, I can't sleep, because I'm just so used to having my little "hot water bottle" to cuddle. |
I got my lil one last nov. 15 09 deal was when she gould get in bed with me all by herself she could sleep with me she has now been in my bed for 3 week now can't sleep without her |
Oh, I'm so glad I found this thread. I was curious about the answers. I should have thought "duh"....of course they sleep in bed. I agree with the other folks who say they are aloud to sleep in their dog's bed. Cooper lays across the bottom of the bed - the wrong way. I have nowhere to put my legs, but I don't dare move him. At least someone is getting a full night's rest! |
all 3 sleep with us and dh sleeps on the couch lolllll jk dh sleeps with us too - dh wants me to find a bigger bed than a cal king though |
No. I put her own bed and blanket beside my bed so she's somewhat sleeping beside me. |
Of course!!! My two have slept with me from the second week I had them. In the begining I'd limit their water intake about an hour before I was ready to go to bed. I had them go pee one more time and then I took them to bed. They just find their spot and go to sleep. It's great and I've heard it helps with the bonding. |
Kozmo has always slept with us and he has to be right in between us and touching us both. He gets me up at least once a night to go potty. |
Its always best to crate train your yorkie before you let him or her sleep in your bed with you. because one they have to learn to sleep alone, but also they need to learn that it isnt ok to pee in thier sleeping area. I only let my dog sleep in the bed with me occassionally but rarely, mostly i let him sleep in his crate. I dont trust him yet to sleep in his own bed with free range of my room because he still pee's in his crate occassionally. but yea its best to let them sleep in the crate, however with a new puppy i know your probably gonna want him or her to sleep in the bed with you. and sometimes they say its ok, because being in thier new home is often times traumatizing. |
The smallest of the gang sleeps where ever her heart pleases. In bed with me or in anyone of the beds around the bedroom or chairs. She can do as she pleases and get on and off the bed at her free will. Biggest dog when with me on over night stays gets to sleep on the floor loose and is my guard girl. Medium girl she gets kenneled as yet as she is much to young to trust she will not chew or pee while I sleep. Day will come down the road we do a reward of sleeping free for good behaviour. Big boys depending on who is here and who is in heat or not; little big man gets to sleep loose with me always. Big man he gets kennels as he is to much of a marker and he will scream if let out one night and put in the next and as he travels for shows and must be kenneled so sorry brat in a kennel you go. Our other wee girl when she is on break from being a service dog one night in bed with me curled up and the rest in kennel so she stays focused for her job. JL |
1 Attachment(s) I haven't read all the above posts so hope this is not a repeat but AFTER BELLA BLUE WAS CRATE TRAINED AND POTTY TRAINED then she was able to sleep with us. She was about 6 1/2 months old at the time. Hope this helps! |
Farrah does not sleep with me/us. A few reasons. 1. I think I might roll on her. 2. She is not 100% good at letting me know she has to potty. and 3. My bedroom is upstairs and I'm afraid she might fall down the stairs or through the spindles of the railing. Better safe than sorry. |
Spike has never slept with me. He has a bed in the room with me, but he is absolutely, 100% not allowed on the bed. It is my unbreakable rule for a number of reasons: 1) He is pee pad trained. Since my bed is quite high, he would not be able to get down and use his pad in the night. 2) I didn't want to roll over and crush him! 3) I didn't want him interrupting my sleep. 4) I find it's easier when I go away and leave him in the care of others. He can take the same bed with him that he sleeps in all the time. |
Rhett sleeps in the crate for the night. But he still likes to get up early, so after a quick trip out he comes back in to our bed to snuggle for another hour or two. |
Both of my babies sleep with us. They are both housebroken and sleep through the night. Jada the princess has her own pillow and sleeps on it and Bogie snuggles up next to me. I wouldn't have it any other way. :) |
Well...Yogi and Bogus have slept with us since they were babies and when little Suki came they continued with her until last summer and we all decided we didn't sleep as well together. I started putting the baby gate up with them on the other side and they were miserably forced to sleep in their own beds:eek:...BUT, Dad is out of town on Monday thru Wed, every week for the last year.... SO they get special privledges on those nights cause we have more room!! They know which nights they can and when he's home they quietly go to their beds...funny, because it didn't even have anything to do with him, but he caught all the blame:p They still love him!! I have stairs on the side of our bed too for them if they need to get up and go potty. |
my yorkie and shih tzu both sleep in my bed or with me on the couch , every night. I have never had any problems with this arrangement . |
Jazmine is 7 months old and 99% potty trained - she has been sleeping with me since I got her at 5 months old - she has never wet the bed - she has never wet her crate - I do control feed and control water after 9 pm at night - she gets a bedtime drink around 9pm - and when I go to bed around 10:00 - 11:00 I take her out - she sleeps all night and usually wakes me up walking around on the bed at 5:30 am - I can take her out let her pee and then take her back to bed and she will stay there with me as long as I stay in bed - I am new to all of this and have used many of the same tactics with my yorkie baby as I used with my children - seems to be working for both of us :) I absolutely love sleeping with her and I think it has contributed a ton to our bonding as loves for life - |
Welcome !!! Quote:
My I take out at about 9-930pm, and they do drink during the night, no food and they use the wee pad at night and when I get up at 6-630am, they go out w/me. The older they get the longer they will learn to hold it, U should look into the wee pads they're the best thing to have for those raining days or when u r too busy to get home on time for a walk. Congrats !! and Enjoy. bark@ulater!!!!!! manina, miley, and max:animal36 |
No I wouldnt recommend u letting your puppy sleep with you..i've done made that mistake before when i first got my pup. If i was you i would stick to crate training..it really helps then when she is a lil older and is housebroken..of course u can let your baby sleep in bed with you..(My baby Remy Sleeps with me every night now that he is house broken and he never had a accident in bed yet )..so just be patient and wait till she a little older =] |
All 3 of mine sleep with me.:animal-pa:animal-pa:animal-pa |
My baby sleeps with me, she wakes up once in a while at night to go pee and since im a light sleeper i get up when she does. Other than that she goes very well sleeping through the night without peeing. |
My baby sleeps with me. If he has to go potty he licks my face. He is 6 months old and has not had an accident in my bed. When I first got him, I started bringing him out every few hours in the middle of the night. They say a puppy can hold its potty for as many hours in months he is. :) I also put a bell on his so I hear him moving around in the middle of the night. |
Dinky is almost 7 months old; he is not fully trained, but doing well. He sleeps in his crate, and it works for me. He's happy enough because he has his own special sleep crate in the bedroom so he can be close. I know he is safe and won't fall or even get into any one thing or another that I might accidently not get off the floor. I think it's okay to let them sleep with you if it's what you want. It would be difficult to make him go back to the crate once he got used to sleeping in the bed, so I'm sticking with this for now. |
