| dog walker opinions Hi everyone! I was hoping for some opinions. I am at my wits end with Stella and cleaning up after her when I get home. She is in an expen when I am at work (including my commute that is 10 hours in the expen!). She is probably bored and makes a mess in there...she shreds her pee pads and plays with her poop!! I have to bleach my kitchen daily and clean all toys/bowls/whatever else is in the expen every day. SO I have an appointment with a dog walker tomorrow. I am going to get her once a week and if it helps I will do more days. My question is what do you think the best thing would be to do? I was thinking keep stella (my puppy) in the expen for about 5 hours and then have the dog walker come in and walk her. Then put her in her crate (not her expen) for the next 5 hours so that hopefully stella is holding it in for the next 5 hours. Does this sound like a good plan or does someone have another suggestion? Thanks |

| she is 6 months old. I would never crate her for 10 hours. But I think half in the ex pen and half in the crate might be ok. Unfortunately my job has a long commute and I can not get home at lunch. I am looking for something closer to my apt but no luck so far |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would try having the dog walker come after 5 hours in the expen and if she hasn't made a mess then walk her and put her back in the expen. If that doesn't help then try the crate after 5 hours.

| Some yorkies (like mine) take a lot longer to house break. Teddy is now almost a year old and he is only now becoming able to hold it in his crate for 4-5 hours. I use a petsitter for a midday visit and this has worked beautifully. He gets tired and it is fun for all three to have a visitor when I'm not around. I think you will be happy with the dog walker option and this may make accidents less frequent. Good luck!
