Yorkie Yakker | unfixed male marking...help! I have a male that is not fixed and he goes to the bathroom everywhere. He has pee pads around the house, and he does use them, but he also uses my furniture too. I never seem to catch him when he is going either so I can not correct the behavior, what should I do? (without getting him fixed.) thank you!!!! alicia and niccolo |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Belly bands. It's not uncommon neutering is ineffective with a dog who has already begun marking.

| What about leashing him to you so that everywhere you go he goes and he is less likely to pee where he should not and if he goes to lift the leg you got him where you can snag him and run to where you do want him to go and reward the good behaviour that you want to see happen. JL

| My Baron was neutered in May @ 17 months old. He still will mark occassionally. I have always worn belly bands on him since I got him @ 6 months and he was already marking. He was diagnosed with Pancreatitis in July and I can't wear the belly bands on him anymore. It puts too much pressure on his belly and they hurt him. So, I have to watch him like a hawk and have puppy pads all around the house. Good-Luck with your little marker...

Yorkie Yakker | Thank you everyone for responding. I had never heard of belly bands until I posted this, and I appreciate the information. I am going to have to keep him near me when we are together to ensure he does not soil my house! |

| I was having a really hard time with my little guy, but it was truly my fault. I did not crate him when I got him and my carpet was ruined due to him marking. Make sure to take him on at least a 20 minute walk when leaving him for a long period of time. Block off areas you don't want him to be in when you are not there. I now have him with me in each room and block him off my leaving the area. It has helped a lot!!

Yorkie Yakker | thank you rocco thank you. I know at the end of the day it is my fault and not his, I need to be more diligent about where he is in the house. I just feel badly crating him while I am away to work. |
