| Glad it is getting better. If it back slides what about a children's play pen in the bed room for him to sleep in he will be contained and safe and in place he can pee in if he was to and still see you and not be in a crate. I hear you on the not wanting to crate train. We had a crate rocker and a crier here for a while. I slept on the floor until he was ok with it. He just needed a human to feel safe in his new home... he is to big to take to bed and also to young to do stairs. Here is what i say to clients about crate training. It is ok what works for you but working toward being ok in a crate is a good safety thing. What if you need to evacuate and he needs to be in a crate. He panics you panic and we have everyone upset. So pull the crate apart and just leave the bottom out on the floor, door off. Every time he looks at it give him a treat. Next step every time he goes near it give him a treat. Next step every time he gets in it give him a treat. You shape up to him in it roof off sleeping. resting eating his meal. Then add the roof, no door and do it again. Now that is busting it down very easy but lots of steps. The do it again with door on. door half open and then at last closed. You do not even have to do it at all if you are happy as things are it just a thought and one with all the crazy weather and fire seasons it worth looking at. JL

| What about trying an xpen? xpens are a nice wire enclosure--from petsmar/petco---we have one with a bed and a pee pad--our babe sleeps there--roomy and not enclosed, but, keeps her safe when we're out. We're such hard sleepers, I'm afraid we wouldn't wake up if she was in trouble so I want to keep her safe at night. |
