| Need Advice Housetraining I am training two 10 week old yorkies I got a potty patch indoor fake grass thing. They will go pee on potty pads but they poop everywhere but there I put the pad on the potty patch and they keep draging it off I have them confined to the kitchen with the potty patch. I just don't know what to do about them not pooping where they need to. I know they are young but they have to start learning What should I do and sometimes 1 of them will pee where ever? Please any advice would be great Thanks Last edited by J_decker09; 08-09-2009 at 12:44 PM. |

| Potty Training If you could catch them in the act and transfer them to the spot where you want them to go to finish and then praise them like crazy for doing good potty it would probably help. I have always been rather lenient and laid back as far as potty trainiing goes, and mine always eventually get it. I never say anything when then do bad - only praise when they do good. I swear, if they know it upsets you when they do bad, they will do it just to push your buttons. |

| Wow - two ten week old puppies! Double trouble! Just kidding. I agree, the trick is to catch them in the act. They should probably be in the living room with you so that you can relax and watch them - then correct behavior when they start to potty. Otherwise, they should be in a crate whenever unsupervised. The only exception to this rule (while potty training) is when you're gone (i.e. at work, shopping, etc) - then put the puppies in an ex-pen. No rules in the ex-pen - just clean up when you get home.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I've got to congratulate your on your success, that's really young for a dog to be pee trained so you and your dogs are doing great. Joey wasn't poop trained till around a year, and he never would poop on his pee pad, he liked to do that in a separate area, so I just put a pad, where he liked to do his business, and I have a separate pad for peeing.
