Is a potty patch fake grass? If so, report back on this thread on how it goes. I purchased a fake grass thing from someone on this list and had one family crisis after another and have not used it yet. I am ready to start now.

Its wonderful. I put the pad under the grass so she could smell it. I would place Ella right on the patch (she normally always goes after waking up) and she's got the hang of it and it only took one week. Good luck. We LOVe it

Thanks for replying so quickly. We have the kind of faux grass that goes on a 6" platform that has something that catches the urine under it. Do you suggest that we maybe start with the grass on top of the pad and then add the platform later, or should we start with the whole thing so we don't have to train her twice?

That's what I would do too! I'm using the potty patch to train my litter of puppies and they are doing wonderful with it! I would say they are at least 75% trained and they are 9 weeks old.

We tried putting the pad on top of the grass, because I did not come back here to read until now. She has continued to go on the pad even though it is on top of the grass. The only downside thus far, is she likes to lay on it. I don't exactly want to pet her after she has laid on a wet pad. I will get out the platform and see how it goes. I will report back tomorrow evening most likely. I hope she won't mind jumping up on it to do business.
